Importance of Writing Skills: Beauty of Creativity

I know you are not thinking in terms of how to become a writer because you are already a writer, but are you happy or getting the success you always wanted to get as a writer? Trust me, I am not going to tell you "how to become a good writer." That's none of my business, nor do I consider myself a writing expert!

Maybe you have always had a writer at heart and have been ready to share your story with the world and earn the title of a writer. I am sure you know its importance that writing skills play an important role in the development of a person. It is a sensitive and effective medium through which we can share our thoughts, feelings, and knowledge with others. Oh yes, through writing, we develop our thinking ability and get the opportunity to present our thoughts in front of the world.

Now, I am not going to tell you that to become a writer, you should have extensive knowledge about the subject. You have to understand the subject well so that you can present it attractively and interestingly. This is what you do.

Although you don't need any formal education to become a writer, there are some key skills that many successful writers have in common. You should think of these skills as prerequisites and aim to improve these skills if you really want to become a top-notch writer.

You know this is a highly competitive environment, so having these skills will set you apart and increase your chances of getting good votes from readers. But let's agree to this point that an understanding of language and grammar is very important for a good writer.

You should use beautiful, clear, and correct language so that readers have no trouble understanding your article. It takes a little effort here, but you will do it. A writer must also have writing and editing skills. You should develop your writing ability and have the skill to find and correct mistakes while editing.

Whatever your reason, the point is still the same: you want to know how to become a better writer and one that everyone will like. So what do you do to become a better writer?

To learn how to become a writer, the short answer is you should write regularly. It sounds simple, right? But writing is never as easy as it sounds—not for me at least.

Let me go a little deeper and say that there is a difference between a writer and an author. A writer is a writer, but an author is not always a writer. So you can ask, "What is the difference between a writer and an author?"

Great question! You want to write something great, polished, and has content that readers can connect with. But how do you do that?

You know writing comes easier to some people than others. Some people become writers and find success quickly, while others have to struggle for years to prove themselves.

For most people, establishing a regular writing routine and finding the right words is not so easy, so motivation and willingness to do better can be just what you need to keep you going.

But before we get into the steps to becoming a writer, we must understand exactly what a writer is. When we learn to be writers, it means that we conceived, created, and produced a work, usually an article, book, short story, poem, or other literary work.

Traditionally, a writer means someone who has written something worth that others want to read and appreciate. The term writer can refer to people like journalists, essayists, and, in the case of bloggers or article writers. And now that you’re on the Steemit blockchain, it just made your job even easier.

Creative writing requires writers to have nothing more than a grasp of the basics of creative writing and extensive experience in storytelling. Creative writers are expected to study and observe their surroundings deeply to improve their art of narration. Since you are reading my article on how I became a writer, I am sure you are already good at writing!

I believe that to create life-size characters, bring our stories to life, and describe people and events in vivid detail, we must have the power of observation. I am not a person who sits back but observes, so I keep trying to improve my observation skills, which is a continuous process.

I try to remember all the literary elements I have learned and use them in my writing. I try to find my author’s voice in different genres and develop myself as a writer by experimenting with genres I have not written on before. I try my hands at fiction, travel, and storytelling, besides a couple of technical articles.

Ever since I thought about becoming a writer, I kept myself observing for hours to generate original and provocative ideas. I kept a note of my experiences during every trip, which took a lot of time and sometimes was stressful, but some ideas were so beneficial that I could not even imagine, and writing a good article and spreading it across the entire community is a feeling that keeps me on my toes.
