I walked alone on a dark cold street
With heavy steps and tired feet.
The stars were gone the moon was shy
Even the birds forgot to fly.

I lost my smile i lost my way
The nights felt longer than the day.
I followed noise and turned from peace
My joy and hope began to cease.

But deep inside i heard a sound
A soft voice rising from the ground.
It called my name with gentle might
“Come back return to the path of light.”

I stopped and looked around in fear
Then wiped away a silent tear.
The light was far but still it shone
Like a sweet dream i used to own.

I took a breath i took a chance
And made my way with one small glance.
With every step the shadows died
And sunbeams danced from side to side.

The flowers smiled the birds sang loud
The sky was clear without a cloud.
My heart felt free my soul grew bright
For i returned to the path of light.

Now i will walk with steady pace
With kindness truth and gentle grace.
No more will darkness steal my sight—
For i belong to the path of light.
