✅ What is the most famous festival of your country? When it is celebrated or occurs?

Our country Bangladesh is a country which is full of traditions and celebrations. Among many festivals in our country, Eid is the most famously and widely celebrated. This Eid is a is a time of joy, togetherness, and full of devotion for all the Muslims all over the country. We celebrated two Eid festivals – Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-Ul-Adha with a lot of planning and with great hopes. People of all ages we celebrate both of these Eids with great enthusiasm.

Eid-Ul-Fitr is an important religious festival for all Muslims. After the ending the thirty days of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, this festival day comes. On the first day of Shawwal and the 10th month of the Islamic calendar, the day of Eid-Ul-Fitr is celebrated. According to the moon sighting the date changes every year.

Eid-Ul-Adha is also known to us as the "Festival of Sacrifice," which is connected with a deep history of Prophet Ibrahim (as). All over the world this day is celebrated with Qurbani for the sake of Allah's pleasure. Around two months after Eid-Ul-Fitr in the last month of the Islamic Calander on the 10th day of DhUl-Hijjah, this day is celebrated. Based on the moon the day of Eid-Ul-Adha is changed every year. Eid-Ul-Adha is also closely linked to Hajj the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. The Eid day is celebrated just after the major rituals of Hajj are being completed, especially the act of sacrificing an animal with the Hajji’s own capacity.

✅ What is the significance of that festival in your country's traditions and in your religion?

The significance of this festival started from the day of Ramadan. Ramadan we perform to get Allah’s pleasure along with this Ramadan teaches us patience, self-discipline, empathy for the poor, and also the pain of starvation which poor people suffer every day. The fast during Ramadan teaches patience, empathy for the less fortunate, and self-discipline. From the days of Ramadan, we tried to give money to the poor as much as we can. Besides this, we all buy new clothes, footwear, and jewelry to celebrate that day. We clean our homes, decorate the furniture with new clothes, and crockeries, and also decorate the

homes with beautiful lighting and paints. In our country Bangladesh the festival day Eid-Ul-Fitr people wake up early in the morning for performing the prayer Salat al-Eid. On that day they give a portion of their wealth as Zakat. This Zakat helps the poor to make up their necessitates and also can participate in celebrating this day and not feel left out. After the prayer every Muslim with other by saying "Eid Mubarak".
Eid-ul-Adha is another important festival in our country. This day we celebrated by remembering the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to Allah when he was willing to sacrifice his own son. Allah was satisfied with the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim and He replaced the child with a ram. This taught all Muslims that through our faith, obedience, and sacrifice we can get Allah’s blessing and mercy. Before Eid-Ul-Adha every area placed a big bazaar of various animals. According to Islamic guidelines all families buy animals cows, goats, or sheep as per their financial condition. We keep these animals near to us and

take good care of them. In these times unconsciously we have a bond and affection for that animal. On the day of Eid, we sacrifice it to get the pleasure of Almighty Allah. The emotional pain that we go through and sacrifice the animal to get the blessing of Allah makes Allah happy and upon us, He keeps showering His blessing upon us. After doing the Quarbani we got the meat and divided it into three portions – one for the poor and needy, one for the relatives and friends, and the last portion for us. This sharing of food helps us strengthen our entire community bond and it helps everyone to celebrate the day.

✅ How is that festival celebrated? Is there any traditional foods or activities linked to it?

In our country, Bangladesh Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-Ul-Adha these two festivals are celebrated with deep religious significance. Eid-Ul-Fitr is festive and comes after completing a month of fasting and also gives us an opportunity of thanksgiving to Allah for the strength to complete the fast. On the other hand Eid-Ul-Adha we celebrate to honor the willingness of Almighty Allah according to Islamic provisions. Both these Eid begins with a special prayer in the morning at our mosques or in a big open green field. In this place, all Muslims gather wearing their best clothes to pray and also ask for Allah’s blessings. After completing the prayer all people hug together and greet by saying "Eid Mubarak". In Eid-Ul-Fitr we give Zakat to the poor before praying to ensure the needy people also celebrate this day like us. On Eid-Ul-Adha we sacrifice animals and the meat is divided between the poor and our relatives which spreads love among us.

During the day of Eid-Ul-Fitr, we always prefer to prepare most of our dishes at home in sweet dishes we have – Semai, Pudding, Roshogolla, Chomchom, Barfi, Gulapjamun, Misti Doi, and many more. As main dishes we have – Biryani, Plain Pulao, Chicken roast and curry items. On the day of Eid-Ul-Adha, we celebrate with a variety of foods. In the morning after completing the Qurbani, we like to have Firni, Rabri, and also many kinds of sweets items. For our meals, we cooked – Beef Biryani, Kacchi, Chicken Biryani, Beef liver curry, Parathas, Beef kabab, mutton curry, and many more.

In both of these Eid festivals, we females wear new traditional clothes like a salwar Kameez, Saree, Kurti, and also those outfits which are trending in that season. Men prefer to wear Panjabi, Kabli Set, and Kurta-pajama. Children wear bright and colorful dresses according to their ages with some sparkle footwear. This is how we celebrate these two big festivals in our country.

✅ What is one unique fact about this festival that most people don’t know?

One unique fact about Eid-Ul-Fitr which is less known by many people that is this festival day is not special only for celebration but this day really gives us an opportunity to come close to the Almighty. During the entire month of Ramadan when we fast sincerely and engage ourselves in prayers, help the needy people, and share our wealth with the poor people as much as we can on that moment for our good deeds angels write our names in a divine record. On this special moment of Eid-Ul-Fitr, these

special names are represented in front of Almighty Allah as a testimony of how blindly trust Allah and to get His pleasure we devotionally obey His every religious instruction. This moment is brought by Allah’s immense blessing our lives become full of mercy, blessings, happiness, and prosperity to our lives.
Eid-Ul-Adha this day is known to all of us as the "Festival of Sacrifice". There is a islamic deep history behind it, besides this, there is another deeper truth about the significance of this day. The true meaning of Eid-Ul-Adha is about our self-reflection. Prophet Ibrahim (AS) not only sacrifices his son in the name of Allah as well but he is also letting go of his greatest and purest attachment which is his son. This gives us

the lesson that nothing is permanent to us we have devoted ourselves to God rather than growing the pride, wealth, ego, or even unhealthy habits in us. On this special day, we keep in touch with every person no matter how big an enemy or bad person he is. We have to forget all the previous bitterness and move forward with a joyful and happy mind.
