The Diary Game: 18.07.2025 | A Simple Friday with Bittersweet Goodbyes

Friday mornings aren’t like any other. There’s always a special feeling in the air as we prepare ourselves for the Jumu’ah prayer at the mosque. I started my morning with a warm plate of hotchpotch for breakfast. After that, I spent some time scrolling on my smartphone and then stepped out into the garden. I had a light, peaceful moment there, especially while spending time with the neighbor’s cat who came to visit.

After performing my Salah at the mosque, I returned home in a bit of a hurry. I was quite hungry, so I had an early lunch and took a short rest afterward. In the afternoon, I went to the railway station to meet one of my close elder brothers, someone I’ve known since childhood. He’s leaving town for good soon, as he’s starting a new job in another city.

It was bittersweet, a little sad, honestly. It feels like everyone I’ve grown up with friends, even older brothers are slowly moving away. While I went there talking to him, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this might be the last time we meet. A quiet sense of loneliness settled in my heart.

In the evening, I spent some light-hearted moments with my elder brother. I jokingly asked him to treat me to a boiled egg. Honestly, I wished I could treat him to something instead, but I didn’t have any money with me. Still, he smiled and treated me to that simple boiled egg.

After that, we exchanged a few farewell words, it felt emotional later and then I slowly came back home. May Allah bless him with good health and long life.

While watching the movie Megan 2.0

At night, I completed my dinner as early as I could. Alhamdulillah, I had a delicious meal, bread with beef curry. A little while later, I took my medications. Later in the night, I watched the movie Megan 2.0. I actually tried to sleep early, but as usual, I got a bit distracted using my smartphone and ended up sleeping later than I planned.
