Travel Blog : (27-03-2025) I Traveled by Bus from Dhaka to Khulna to Celebrate the Holy Eid.

Greeting my dear friends. Welcome to my new travel post on the occasion of Eid. Today I will present this post to you by sharing my experience of the journey I took from Dhaka to Khulna for my village home.

First, our journey started from the Dhaka Rajarbagh Green Line Bus Counter. I had purchased tickets for this journey through my husband a few days ago. During Eid, the biggest problem for people from different regions of Dhaka to reach their homes is the lack of vehicles. Although there are many vehicles in Dhaka city, it is very less compared to the huge number of people. However, we reached the Rajarbagh Green Line Bus Counter by 2:30 PM and we waited for our bus for a while.

Since it is a bus counter, there was a good arrangement for passengers to sit here. So I took a seat inside the counter and waited for our bus. I saw many passengers like me waiting for their journey and I also saw buses leaving from the bus counter at regular intervals for their destinations.

Generally, there were two entrances to the Green Line bus counter from where passengers could raise any issues with their journey to the Green Line bus authorities. Our journey time was 3 pm so we were sitting at the bus counter and could see the excitement of other buses and bus passengers reaching their destinations.

After some time our bus reached the counter and then the coach number of our bus was mentioned from the counter and all the passengers of that bus were asked to board the bus. Then I went to the bus with all my belongings and here I showed my ticket and loaded my belongings into the bus.

Since Green Line is a very prestigious bus in Bangladesh, before boarding the passengers, their tickets and all their belongings are checked thoroughly. I see other passengers like me showing their tickets to get their belongings on the bus and a token is given to all the passengers carrying their belongings along with the ticket so that the passengers can easily identify their belongings.

The best moment for me was when I sat down on my seat on the top deck of the bus because in a few moments I would begin my pleasant journey. Moreover, it was a double-decker bus so I booked the front seat on the top deck of the bus to make the journey experience even better.

Our bus will start its journey in some time but one thing makes me even happier and that is a gift. Basically, a company was gathering some food items for all the passengers traveling by bus and making a gift item and delivering it to the passengers, which I liked a lot. Because I like to receive surprise gifts anyway.

Our bus started its journey towards Khulna at 3 pm and in this case the bus first left the Rajarbagh bus counter and came to a congested road. Basically the biggest problem of the people of Dhaka city is that they lose a lot of valuable time of their life on the road due to the problem of excessive traffic jam. Similarly, we were stuck in the traffic jam for quite some time which always seems annoying to me.

The road from Rajarbagh bus counter to Dhaka Jatrabari was full of traffic jams, which took us a lot of time to cross. However, the relief was that after about 45 minutes, we started our peaceful journey towards Khulna through an empty road and our bus was running towards Khulna at a certain speed. At that time, I was watching the views around the road, which I always like.

After we had travelled for 2 hours and 30 minutes, our bus stopped in front of a renowned restaurant in Gopalganj district. Although this stopover was quite useful for all of us because sometimes we feel uncomfortable due to our journey, we can overcome it by taking a break.

After stopping the bus at the restaurant, we entered the restaurant and saw various types of food being sold there, including various Iftar items. Although we had been to this restaurant before and this restaurant is very famous in the city of Gopalganj. Our bus stopped at this restaurant for a little over 10 minutes and by then we freshened up, bought some food and got back on the bus.

After finishing the journey break and boarding the bus, our car started its journey towards Khulna again. It was already afternoon and the sun was setting in the western sky. It was quite nice to see the orange sun in the western sky. I was enjoying the beauty of the sun in the western sky and enjoying every moment of my journey.

In the late afternoon, we were given an iftar box from inside our bus, which is basically given to all passengers on the Green Line bus every year during Ramadan. I liked this a lot because I was fasting and I needed this iftar. However, after receiving the iftar box, I kept it with me.

At 6:16 PM, I opened the Iftar box because it was already Iftar time. The Iftar box had all my favorite foods in it. Anyway, on time, I picked up the Iftar box and started eating the foods in the box, which were quite delicious. I also ate all the food that I had ordered from the restaurant.

Our bus reached Khulna city after 8 pm and by then our journey was almost over. I felt much better after reaching Khulna city because it was my first time coming to this city for Eid. However, our car reached our destination in some time and then I got out of the car and ended my journey.
