My dear friends, good day to you all. Today I have come here to participate in the Weekly Diary game contest organized by my beloved friend @pathanapsana.
It was April 11, 2025. The previous night, I went to bed a little later than usual, as I was thinking of our New Year's Fair. Therefore, I was a little late to wake up, but I had a lot of work to accomplish. So, I jumped from the bed and headed to the kitchen to prepare our tea. While sipping my tea, I organized my work silently. First, I prepared our breakfast, dhal curry with bread, then I finished all my routines.
The most unique activity was at hand. It was our New Year Fair, organized by the Ladies Welfare Association of our housing scheme. My husband had to light the oil lamp as the Chairman of the Main Welfare Association of our Housing Scheme. I was assigned to the announcing part. It was scheduled to be opened at 9.00 a.m. Therefore, both of us hurried to our welfare building, where the fair was taking place. It rained a lot yesterday; we had thought it might rain today as well, but thankfully the weather was good.
By the time we went there, most of the stallholders had already set up their stalls. But more stallholders have to come. The fair was set to start in just fifteen minutes. Therefore, at the start, I announced to all the stallholders to come quickly.
At 9.00 a.m., I welcomed all the invitees and participants, then I invited each invitee on the list to light the oil lamp. There were two main invitees; the others were the chairperson and secretaries of the welfare associations. Accordingly, we started our 4th New Year fair by lighting the oil lamp; people gathered to buy items as the new year was at hand.
These photographs were shared in our group; I couldn't take them as I was the announcer.
There were a lot of stalls, most of which sold sweets. People were anxious to purchase them for their New Year's table. In addition, there were garments, fruits, bags, bites, etc. From time to time I announced to the village people to come and buy our items.
In some stalls, there was cooked manioc with coconut sambal, and some had brought orange juice for sale. We bought those items and shared them among us and tasted happily. Orange juice sold out fast since it was an extremely hot day.
We were very happy that day because a lot of buyers had come to buy goods. Stallholders also were very happy as their goods were selling fast.
On other days our Fair was limited to half a day, but this time because of the large number of purchasers, we decided to extend it to a full day. We closed it for an hour for lunch, and two groups took care of the fair's goods in the meantime.
The premises were filled with a lot of laughter and voices of the residents. What a thrilling date it was? As the Fair was over at 6.00 p.m., we parted with happy thoughts.
The fair helped us to strengthen our bonds with the residents of our scheme. That day we went to bed with happy hearts even though we felt very tired.
Thank you for reading my post.
