COME AND RELAX AT MACTAN SHRINE

As time passed, Lapu-Lapu City grew and improve so fast. We saw many tall buildings already, there were many great and relaxing beaches, many businessman wanted to build a business here, and there were many tourists were coming our place.

One of the tourist spot the tourist wanted to visit is the famous Mactan Shrine which is located in Mactan.

Mactan Shrine was formally named as Liberty shrine or resting. Long time ago, the place is made up of bermuda grass wherein many lovers stayed and lay down on the grass, there were also family come and bring mat and food and had their salo-salo.

As time passed, it was renovated. The grass was taken off, only few remained. The place was changed to cement because of some purpose. One of it so the stage can be easily installed whenever there will be an event. Just like this month, we celebrated the Kadaugan sa Mactan (Victory of Mactan). We called it bahug-bahog in our language. It is were there is a reenactment as to how Lapu-Lapu fought Magellan. The mayor of the place, hired actors or vloggers who will portray the role.

And during the celebration, many food stall inside the shrine and you can buy what you want.

They as well provided some tables and chairs for you to stay, eat and relax.

Above all, you can smell the seabreeze because the shrine is located in front of the shore and sometimes, the seawater will go over the fence of the shrine.

The place is indeed recommended for you to relax and enjoy with your family.

What makes it great is that, it is just a public shrine and they will not be asking any donations. The toilet are clean and they had 2 buildings for toilets. They had a playground for the kids but not yet renovated. You can also see some souveneir store.

It will open at 9 in the morning and usually close at 10pm or depending on the occasion.
