Contest| The Power of Small Actions
Many people are touched by the small actions we do, it has gone a long way in helping them at the moment. The smallest thing, such as a smile, can change the whole mood of a person. I don't look down on small actions because I have learned a lot from their consequences.
School is a tough place, very stressful, and it affects students mentally, but it is very promising; that is what drives us to school daily because we must succeed. I offered 14 courses in my 200 level, which is just too much due to the workload of each course; some of them were practical courses, which always took much time and hard work.
It was a Thursday, a work day for my department as we were doing carpentry that week, we had a project which was to construct an adjustable relaxing chair. The wood was taken by each group for cutting; the cutting was done by a professional while we gave the markings and what we needed. While he was cutting using the cutting table, we noticed a strong metal that was hard beaten into the wood, we saw it from our angle. We quickly alerted him which he stopped with haste.
He turned off the machine and started to thank us, he said he didn't even notice the metal in it, it would have caused him serious injury because the machine would have reverted and then cut his palms even with the gloves he wore. One interesting thing is that he is the course coordinator, he added marks for all of us in the group for observation. This mark helped a lot of us to jump into a very good grade. Small Actions do have Power
I would love to invite @davidmarkgeorge @kwinberry and @precious9 to take part
This story is so touching and full of valuable lessons. You’ve done a great job of showing how a small act of paying attention and telling someone right away can save someone from great harm—and ultimately, benefit you and your group. It’s proof that small acts of caring can create big results.
