Creative Writing: Should House Chores Be Gender Based?

I have been seeing lots of people debate the art of cooking, was it meant for women alone? I mean was it supposed to be kind of a gender based thing? I don't know if anybody thinks about it or we have moved on and accepted the fact that it's gender based.

In my family where I grew up from, we the girl children were not exempted from other chores, kitchen chores inclusive. The male children were not exempted as well, so basically all of us were being thought that there is no chores in the house that was meant for certain gender.

But at the same time, growing up, I have seen people from different family say that making money is basically for the male folks while cooking and house keeping is for the female folks, I don't know if it's to refute this but based on my upbringing, this particular phenomenon goes contrary to my belief.

I am going to say it that, there is nothing the two known genders can't do, I believe in a family where making of money is for both gender and house keeping is for both gender.

I teach my son from this little age of his how to cook, do other chores and not just sit when I am cooking and expect to be served. If I am picking beans, he will certainly come out and follow me to pick beans, his hands are not strong yet, I will start asking him to wash his own clothes and not wait for anyone to do that for him.

My hubby do come back from work and cook if I am not around, he makes money and I do too, this is how we have built our home and not just about sitting down and expecting one person to do the whole thing because we believe it was meant for a certain gender and at the end of the day when the load is much, they might be forced to give up and then we will see thief usefulness of which I am not even praying for such.

So, if you are a man, do not think your duty is just to make money and you don't have any business with how the home is being run, sooner or later you might get to realize that a whole lot had gone wrong right under your nose because you weren't active the way you should.

Also, if you are a woman, don't silence your dreams and stay at home and become a home keeper, be proactive in hustling so you can support your darling husband so that he won't get old or worn out before your eyes. Everyone should be proactive in the house and that is how beautiful and happy family is being raised.
