Usually I use the powerup contest by @jyoti-thelight to do my regular powerup, because I know how important powering up is. And she has done a wonderful job hosting it for the 84th week now.

If you’ve been on Steemit for a while, you’ve probably heard about powering up. Well, it's one of the first lessons we learn here, due to the benefits of this for both parties. So, everyone keep it on high. You know, we receive rewards here in two forms: Steem Power (SP) and liquid Steem. Powering up simply means converting liquid Steem into Steem Power. The two states behave in two different ways, and so does the return.
The process is not that big deal, but what it gives is high.
Power up process
- Go to your wallet. Log in using your Posting key.
Before Power Up
- Here is my wallet before the process.
- In front of the Steem Balance in the wallet, there's a drop-down menu. Click it and select the Power Up option.
300 STEEM POWER-UP
- In the next window, enter the amount you want to power up. Then confirm the process with your active key. In a few seconds it's done.
After Power Up
Before Power Up - 962.904 Steem, 28,827.669 SP
Amount Power up - 300 Steem
After Power Up - 662.904 Steem, 29,127.676 SP
The importance of Power Up
To build our account and reputation - Most of us started the journey here from the bottom. So, how are we managed to shine among thousands of other newbies? Well, yeah, by creating quality content and showing our commitment and trust towards the community. So, this is an easy and wonderful way to show that and to become a valuable member.
Higher Voting Power and Curation Rewards - The Steem Power we have determines the value of our votes. The higher the better. Then we can support more quality content, and appreciate the others. In return, we receive more curation rewards.
Community Growth - Or else we can delegate Steem Power to other communities you like, and help them to be self sustainable.
Other Opportuitiets - As you most the responsibilities here like, Steem Representative, community curator, moderators requires a certain level of SP, as it reflects our dedication.
Interest Rate - According to the team, our STEEM POWER increases at an APR of approximately 2.74%, which is a good interest as well.
