Can you imagine a solider who claims to be going to eat rushing into battle empty handed without any weapon for both attack and defence! It is merely a suicidal effort, And this is how many believers are.
Their Bibles are now everywhere especially in this technological age, their bags, pockets, church multimedia screen, bookshelves etc. Except the one place where it becomes a potent weapon their heart. When last did you memorise up to ten verses last?
How many scripture verse can you quote correctly off your heart?

Growing up in our African community, many of us quickly latched onto the many of the superstitious use of the Bible i.e. using as headrest to drive away witches, using it as tool to apprehend suspected thieves, holding it in your hands to hit at spirits.
All these were tricks of the enemy to distract us from the only thing that makes the Bible a potent sword of the spirit in our hands today keeping it in your heart through the list art of reading, meditation and instant obedience to truth received.

Have you truly read your Bible today? You can begin today. As a believer, you should make the Bible your best companion.

Will the Bible keep you away from sin or will sin keep you away from the Bible? Think about it.

Bible Reading

Ephesians 6: 10-17

Last of all I want to remind you that your strength must come from the Lord's mighty power within you.
11 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan.
12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies--the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world.
13 So use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.
14 But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God's approval.
15 Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God.
16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.
17 And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit--which is the Word of God.

Psalms 119:9-11

How can a young man stay pure? By reading your Word and following its rules.
10 I have tried my best to find you--don't let me wander off from your instructions.
11 I have thought much about your words and stored them in my heart so that they would hold me back from sin
