Summer is a time of the year when the sun is very hot causing the environment to be dry and often times irritating to the skin, during this period there are several drinks that can calm the body system.


WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE DRINK IN SUMMER AND WHY DO YOU LIKE IT

My Favorite Drinks of Summer is Tiger Nut Milk;

When the sun gets hot and everything gets sweaty and dry, I always run to something that makes me feel alive again - Tiger Nut Milk. Of a truth, I don't know if it's the taste or the fact that it cools me so well, but this drink is like the magic in a cup to me. Every time I take it.
It makes my whole body say "thank you" especially when it's cold.

I didn't always love Tiger nut milk. As a kid, I thought only a few old people drank it. But a few years ago, during a hot afternoon, my friend brought me a cold bottle from his house and offered it to me. At first I was hesitant to collect it, but after some persuasion, I collected it, I don't even know what changed that day, but after the first sip, I became addicted.

I prefer to do it at home as I don't like items sold in stores as they sometimes prepare theirs by adding sugar and preservatives, which is not good for the human health. A homemade tiger nut milk tastes better, creamy and natural. It's not that difficult to make, if you know what you are doing.

First, soak the tiger nuts (also known as chufa) overnight, or, if it's really dry, for about 24 hours to soften it. After softening, it is then mixed with a little water and small dates for sweetening or ginger to spice it up. Next, you will strain it with a clean cloth or fine sieve and that's it, You have your tiger nut milk. Sometimes you can just add coconut or vanilla to give it another flavor, but it still tastes great on it own.


TELL US ABOUT THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF YOUR FAVOURITE DRINK

One of the things I like about this drink is not just the taste, but how nutritious it is. Tiger nuts are actually tubers, not nuts, but since it has nuts in its name, people usually avoid it, due to allergies. But the fact is that it is not harmful to people who are allergic to nuts as they can drink it safely. Its fibers help with digestion and I confirmed this after I drank it I did not feel heavy.

It also helps with heart health and it provides some kind of natural energy without making you feel hyper-active. It is also rich in potassium, iron and magnesium. I think this kind of natural drink is better than lemonade or artificial juice, by the way I'm not a doctor.


WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS? WHY OR WHY NOT

100% yes. I always tell my friends to at least give it a try. Some say they don't like the texture, and others prefer cold drinks with gas, but I think they can change their minds by giving tiger nut milk particularly homemade and cold one a chance. It is healthy, and refreshing and makes summer feel more endurable.

And if you can do it yourself, because you have control over what it's made of, and that's even better. While buying other energy drinks and sodas which high some high amount of sugar, I am there with my chilled tiger nut milk and enjoying each sip as if it were my first. If you've never tried it before, this summer may be the time to give it a try.
