"Doctors Without Borders"
Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "Doctors Without Borders" as part of my participation in this 👉contest organized by @helengutier2
🧑🏻⚕️ What do you know about this Doctors Without Borders initiative?
Doctors Without Borders are special health workers who are under an international humanitarian medical organization known for providing people who are faced with violence or any threats to health with emergency health services to protect those who are being affected by violence or disasters with medical aid.
The work of Doctors Without Borders is specifically for an emergency purpose; the organization was founded far back in 1971 and has spread its operations across different countries. In my country, Nigeria we have a lot of non-governmental organizations (NGO) that provide support for those who are been faced with conflict, disaster, epidemics, and so on. The works of Doctors Without Borders include the following:
Treating and taking care of disease outbreaks and malnutrition
Providing support for child health and maternal
Advocating for access to life-saving medicine
Providing medical aid in places where there is war.
🧑🏻⚕️ What do you think about this type of service?
I think this type of service is good and recommendable in our societies as it is a life-saving service that represents the highest values of medical ethics and Han solidarity in the world, treating those who are in need without collecting something from them, regardless of political or religious differences.
It is not easy work because of the risk involved this type of service should be the highest paying service in the world because one of the hardest jobs is for someone to leave his or her comfort zone to a war zone or where he or she doesn't know and start providing medical aid. The service is a reminder to us that it is humanitarian and medical workers who have the heart of humanity in this world.
🧑🏻⚕️ If you had the opportunity to volunteer to help the most vulnerable populations, I would do it.
In all my life, I have wished and wanted to work with non-governmental organizations that provide humanitarian service to the people today. If I should have the opportunity to volunteer to help the most vulnerable populations, I would use the opportunity that is given to me to serve diligently in providing service of direct response to injustice and suffering.
🧑🏻⚕️ What is service and how can we support it from our position?
Service means using my time, resources, or skills for the benefit of others, most especially those who are in need. This simply means I don't have to be in any position before I can provide support, meaning I can support Doctor Without Borders in the following ways:
Donations
Raising awareness
Educating myself and others
Advocating for policy change
Organising fundraising.
