Pancreatic disease is a disease that occurs in the pancreas organ area, it can be inflammation of the pancreas or damage to the pancreas organ, here are some types of diseases of the pancreas:
Acute pancreatitis
This is an inflammatory disease of the pancreas that occurs suddenly, the symptoms that appear are usually severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.Chronic pancreatitis
This is the reason for the inflammatory disease of the pancreas that develops slowly over years, the symptoms that appear are usually severe recurring abdominal pain, digestive problems and weight loss.Pancreatic cancer
This is a type of cancer that grows in the endorphin cells of the pancreas, namely cells that produce hormones and control blood sugar levels.Pancreatic islet cell tumor
This is a medical condition that can cause increased hormone production and enlargement of the pancreas organ.
What do we know about pancreatic disease?
The causes of pancreatic disease itself can occur due to several things, including:
- Excessive alcohol consumption
- Infection
- Gallstones
- Abdominal injury
- High triglycerides
- Use of certain medications
- Metabolic disorders such as diabetes
- Genetic disorders, such as cystic fibrosis
Pancreatitis itself requires immediate treatment to prevent more dangerous complications such as malnutrition or kidney failure.
Do you or someone in your family have problems with your pancreas?
I myself do not have pancreatic disease and no one in our family has pancreatic disease, hopefully we are all protected from this terrible disease by continuing to maintain our health every day by always eating healthy foods and exercising regularly.
How do we maintain our pancreas and avoid disease?
To maintain pancreatic health, we can apply a healthy lifestyle as follows:
- limit alcohol consumption.
- limit consumption of fatty and high-sugar foods.
- consume nutritious foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat protein.
- exercise regularly.
- do not smoke
- maintain ideal body weight
- monitor blood sugar levels regularly
- maintain adequate hydration
- consume antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin C, and selenium
- reduce chronic stress
