What is Hepatitis B and How Does It Affect the Liver?
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis is an infectious disease that causes liver damage and is caused by the hepatitis virus. Hepatitis B virus is also a type of hepatitis virus that is caused by a kind of special virus whose discovery is still under study. Hepatitis B virus is more common than other viruses, and it causes sudden liver damage.
Entrance of Virus into the Human Body
If we talk about how this virus enters into human body, then it uses different ways as we can say like transmission of body fluids, especially transmission of blood from one person to another person, giving donations, and using contaminated surgical and home use instruments like razors, blades, and unprotected dactyl contacts can also cause entrance of this virus into body.
Process
This virus enters into body and causes effects on the liver cells. But during this process, there is a definite immune system inside the human body that recognizes this virus and attempts to eliminate it.
Immunity Failure
But sometimes, our immune system fails to respond to this virus, especially when it has strong resistance power. The infection spreads into the body and is cleared within 6 months, causing acute hepatitis B.
Liver Effect
  • 🦠 Liver Inflammation (Hepatitis): Liver inflammation is the first sign shown by the body as an action of this disease. Many tests are even made on this basis. It is the most basic effect shown by HBV on the liver.
  • ⚠️ Liver Fibrosis (Scarring of Liver Tissues): And after some months, when this virus becomes severe, it causes liver fibrosis, which is scarring of liver tissues.
  • 🩸 Liver Damage Progression: When this virus becomes severe, over time, it causes the liver to turn, and it leads to the cutting of the liver from the whole body, leading to liver failure.
  • 🧬 Hepatitis B Leading to Liver Cancer: Similarly, if this virus reaches its higher stage, it may also cause liver cancer.
  • 🔬 How Hepatitis B Virus Triggers Cancer: If you meet any patient with hepatitis B around you, then you must be aware of the risk of cancer in people with that disease. Hepatitis B virus integrates into liver cell DNA, and we all know that cancer is associated with human DNA. The virus causes a change in DNA structure, and hence it leads to cancer.
Conclusion
The overall conclusion is that Hepatitis B progressively damages the human liver, leading to inflammation, then to fibrosis of the liver, which may lead to liver cancer, and then it leads to complete liver failure. Early detection, vaccination, and early treatment can prevent its severity.

What are the symptoms of acute and chronic Hepatitis B?

Hepatitis B is further divided into two types, named acute hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis B. Let's understand the meaning of acute hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis B

Acute Hepatitis B Symptoms:

Acute hepatitis B is a kind of hepatitis B virus that lives for a short time, less than six months, after which the virus expires. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, and some people may show no symptoms. It is less severe and its most common symptoms are listed below.

  • 🤒 Flu-like Symptoms: Flu-like symptoms like fever, fatigue, and weakness are shown in a person with hepatitis B.
  • 🟡 Jaundice in Acute Hepatitis B: The second symptom, which is common in acute hepatitis, is jaundice, which is also appeared from skin like yellowing of the skin and eyes, and that is the reason hepatitis B virus is known as yellow hepatitis.
  • 💧 Dark Urine and Pale Stool: Another symptom includes dark urine and pale stool, which is also common in the case of acute hepatitis B virus.
  • 🤢 Vomiting and Loss of Appetite: Sometimes, if acute hepatitis B virus is dominating in the human body, then vomiting after eating and loss of appetite may also be visible.
  • 🤕 Abdominal, Joint, and Muscle Pain: Abdominal pain and pain in joints and muscles also show symptoms of hepatitis B virus in its acute severity.
Chronic Hepatitis B
Chronic Hepatitis B virus lives for a long time, and sometimes it may last for life. Many people with chronic Hepatitis may have no symptoms for years until severe damage to the liver occurs.
Stages of Chronic Hepatitis B & Symptoms
Often it has two stages. The first one is known as early-stage symptoms, and the second one is advanced symptoms.
  • 🤒 Early Stage Symptoms: Early stage symptoms include mild fatigue, general weakness, such as fever, muscle fatigue, and loss of appetite.
  • 🤕 Mild Abdominal Discomfort: The second one is mild abdominal discomfort, which means the abdominal part of our belly may feel pain or a sense of discomfort.
  • 🔴 Advanced Symptoms: Advanced symptoms include persistent fatigue and weakness of the whole body, sudden loss of weight, frequent vomiting, jaundice, which is again the yellowing of skin and eyes for a long time, and swelling of the legs and abdomen.
  • 🧠 Hepatic Encephalopathy and Bleeding: Sometimes a person with the Hepatitis B virus may face mental confusion known as hepatic encephalopathy, and bleeding may also be noticed, which is due to reduced liver function, showing the malfunctions of the human liver.
  • 🩸 Severe Jaundice and Liver Cancer: And in several cases the severe jaundice occurs, and the patient may also feel difficulty in breathing, abdominal bleeding may also happen, and this all leads to liver cancer.
  • 🔬 Liver Cancer Risk in Hepatitis B Patients: And in most cases, liver cancer only occurs in patients who have already contracted any kind of hepatitis virus.

What are the common ways in which Hepatitis B is transmitted?

As discussed earlier, Hepatitis B virus is an infectious disease that spreads through certain contacts, and its use is are definite mode of transmission. So following are some modes of transmission that cause the hepatitis B virus to spread.

  • 👶 Mother-to-Child Transmission: The most common worldwide transmission of Hepatitis B occurs from mother to baby. A pregnant mother with Hepatitis B can pass the virus to his child during his infant's stage. This is known as the highest viral load risk around the world because it has no protective mode. After all, we cannot prevent a child from being contaminated with the Hepatitis B virus, as it is natural, but we can prevent the mother from this transmission by giving her proper vaccines.
  • ⚠️ Unprotected Sexual Contact: The second mode, which causes Hepatitis B virus transmission, is unprotected sexual contact. This virus may be present in human or other fluids that I am not naming. It may pass through the human body from one person to another during intercourse.
  • 💉 Sharing Needles and Drug Use: This virus can be transmitted from one person to another using contaminated surgical instruments.
  • 🩸 Blood and Body Fluid Exposure: During the transmission of blood from one person to another, this virus is also transmitted from an infected person to a normal person's body. For this reason, blood is tested before transmission.
  • 🪒 Sharing Personal Items: Sharing personal items, including razor, toothbrush, and e n nail cutter, may have microscopic traces of bbloodd which can cause the transmission of this virus from one person to another.
  • 🏠 Using Household Contacts: Closed personal contacts like a razor, nail cutter can also cause the transmission of this virus.
How can Hepatitis B be prevented?
  • 📢 Educational Awareness: The first step that we can take to prevent the Hepatitis B virus is educational awareness because nowadays it has been reported by the Pakistan Medical Commission that this virus spreads through the carelessness of people. Therefore, public health campaigns and education about the mode of transmission of this virus can prevent to spread of the hepatitis B virus in high-risk populations.
  • 💉 Early Vaccination: The second step, which should be taken, is to vaccinate e early as possible. The most effective way to prevent Hepatitis B is through vaccination. The vaccination against this virus is widely available, even though nowadays the vaccination against this virus is available in government sectors of Punjab and rural health centers. This is the most effective method that prevent the child's health infection from this virus.
  • 🩸 Avoiding Exposure to Infected Blood and Body Fluids: Avoiding exposure to infected blood and body fluid can also prevent, as I havediscussedd ear, lier all which spreads through blood transmission and transmission contact from one person to an. he taking this measure can also prevent one from the viral hazards of this virus.
  • 🛡️ Safe Practices and Blood Safety: All over, safe practices are effective ways to prevent this virus from spreading and ensure blood safety. Usually nowadays, in many countries in all countries in the world, the blood transmission campaigns are working to prevent and fight against blood diseases, and they require blood donors. But during this blood donation subpoenaing blood safety should not be taken for granted. It must be my view. This is an effective solution to prevent this virus, especially in public areas.

End Remarks
It might prove fatal for any person who is a victim of this virus. Therefore, preventive measures must be taken. Educational awareness is essential, and early vaccination is a crucial step to fight against this virus. This virus not only impacts human health, but it also poses a social threat to all people through their social contacts. Furthermore, I would like to invite @adnanliaqatali, @afzalqamar, and @amjadsharif to join this contest.
