INTRODUCTION
What are fruits?
Fruits are the fleshy and edible ripened parts of a tree that are eaten for their nutritious contents. We have over a thousand types of fruits all over the world and from time immemorial, it has been discovered that fruits are medicinal, and can help relieve lots of pains or sicknesses.
What is your favourite fruit and why do you like it?
Is fruits are a part of your diet or do you consume them often? Tell us the reasons.
I consume fruits as often as possible, especially seasonal fruits. It's easy and cheaper to purchase fruits in it's season cos after it's season, you won't see that particular fruit again till the following year.
I consume fruits for it's benefits or nutritional value. Fruits can keep one away from the doctor for a long while. Infact, it is cheaper to consume fruits than to spend the money in the hospital. Example, one can take different fruits for constipation but if you go to the hospital, the drugs you will be given will be 3 times more expensive than the money spent on fruits.
• I consume fruits like limes, lemons and oranges because of the vitamins and minerals contained in it.
• Fruits provide me with antioxidants.
• Some fruits like carrots improves my eyesight.
• Bananas and avocados gives me healthy skin.
• Paw paw softens bowl movement and gives relieve from constipation.
These are the few I can mention but there are other fruits I consume that time and space won't enable me to mention. In all, fruits on its own dies for me what normal food cannot do and it slows down the rate of disease or illness in my body.
Pawpaw is another fruit I love consuming because of its benefits.
Have you ever experienced any health benefits from regularly consuming fruits?
Also, consuming pineapple has helped me in different ways. It aids digestion and it is a good source of vitamin C to me. I also realize it heals wound quickly.
Eating lime, lemon and orange improves my immune system so that I don't fall sick easily. They relieve me of catarrh and cold. They lower my risk of heart disease. In all, I have come to realize that the power of fruits is underrated or is not emphasized enough.
Do you liked fruit based desserts, drinks and shakes? If yes then tell us about them.
Yes, I like fruit based desserts, drinks and shakes. At home, sometimes I make it. I use pineapple, pawpaw, carrot, orange, apple, to make drinks. This is a natural fruit drink with jo sugar or preservatives added to it. I refrigerate it and drink it within few days and it works for so many things.
I also like taking desserts. Sometimes, it even serves as the last thing I take for the day. They serve as nutritional support. Whatever was lacking in my meal can be gotten through it.
Also, the different natural tastes that comes from the different fruits eaten together or made into a drink serves as an energy booster with a unique taste.
