Steem greetings @everyone and lovers of good health, it is a privilege to participate in the contest “Fruits and health” organized by @abdullahw2. I will share my ideas following the guiding questions below and I hope you find pleasure in reading through.

What is your favourite fruit and why do you like it?

Talking about my favourite fruit, I do not think I have any favourite fruit. Most of the fruits in Cameroon are seasonal and for that reason when it is the season of a particular fruit I make sure I consume it to my satisfaction.

Each season’s fruit has its benefits to my body. Take for instance during the dry season, we experience harsh climates with the harmattan playing a crucial role in our health challenges. I often consume lots of oranges during this season to help boost my immune system and fight against the flu from the harmattan dust.

During the dry season, I also consume pineapple and paw-paw. I usually prepare a mixed fruit salad, combining pineapple, apple, paw-paw and oranges. This helps to boost my immune system and is rich in antioxidants.

Notwithstanding, I think I will choose orange, pineapple and apple as my best fruits. I could as well add strawberries and grapes but I buy once Ina whe because they are pretty expensive in my country as they are imported.

Are fruits a part of your diet or do you consume them often? Tell us the reasons.

I consume fruits almost every week and it is difficult to stay without fruits in my fridge. The reason for this is that my kids are selective when it comes to food. Most often they do not have an appetite to eat food and only want snacks.

I often give them fruits to boost their appetite and also fruits are beneficial for their health and well-being.

Have you ever experienced any health benefits from regularly consuming fruits?

Of course, there are several benefits I experienced consuming fruits like paw-paw, oranges, apples, etc. As I earlier said, consuming these fruits boosts my immune system.

These fruits are rich in vitamins and minerals and consuming them often helps keep me healthy.

I do not suffer from any heart disease and helps to regulate my blood pressure. Some of the fruits like watermelon help to keep me hydrated.

Do you like fruit-based desserts, drinks and shakes? If yes then tell us about them.

I so much love fruit drinks and I can consume it on a daily basis. I so not consume alcoholic drinks but I consume lots of fruit drinks.

One of my favourite fruit drinks is the “junior cocktail”. It is a combination of passion fruit, pineapple and orange to give it a unique flavoured fruit drink.

In sum, fruits are essential for our health and consuming them daily is a boost to our well-being. I will invite @suboohi, @josepha and @fombae to participate in the contest.
