Muscle Contractions
Hey friends, I'm participating in this contest called muscle contractions. Have you ever had a muscle contraction, what was the cause, how long did it last and how did it make you feel?
Muscle contractions can cause significant pain as discomfort, it's important to understand the reason behind the pain and take steps to alleviate it.
How often do you suffer from muscle contractions?
I rarely suffer from muscle contractions, but when it does happen it can be really painful. This is a scenario of a typical muscle contraction I've experienced.
In the middle of the night, I finally get to sleep after the long days work. Suddenly, I'm jolted awake by a sharp stabbing pain in my calf muscle. I sit up in bed rubbing my legs trying to ease the discomfort. The pain is intense and I can feel it increasing.
After some stretches and applying a hit ointment, I finally found relief.
In your case, what is the reason for these contractions?
Well, I do have muscle contractions as a result of poor posture or sitting for so long. Sometimes it happens when the weather is too cold. Due to the nature of my work, I find myself sitting behind a computer for long hours and I can't afford to leave when I'm not done, so I end up sitting for so long, and when I finally get up, I experience muscle contractions.
What do you do to relieve those muscle contractures?
I engage in a little exercise, stretch and sometimes I apply a hot cream and massage the affected area, mostly my legs and arms and with time the pain goes away.
What advice do you recommend to avoid muscle contractions?
Those who suffer from muscle contractions should identify the cause of the problem, is it the nature of their work, or some underlying health issues. Then they can look for ways to solve the problem. They can engage in exercises, drink lots of water, maintain a good posture and eat foods rich in nutrients such as calcium, potassium and magnesium to aid in spring bones and healthy body development.
