Importance of Hydration In Summer

Assalamualaikum my fellows I hope you will be fine by the grace of Allah. Today I am going to participate in contest of dehydration in the Healthy Steem community.

Why is staying hydrated more important in the summer than other seasons?

It is very important to stay hydrated in the summer season than other seasons. In the summer season the sunlight is very fast. The scorching heat of the Sun sucks water from the body quickly. To maintain the water level in the body it is required to stay hydrated in the summer season than other seasons. We know our body has 70% water.

How much water do you try to drink daily in the summer? Do you follow any routine?.

Actually in the summer season I feel thirsty Al the time. I do not follow any strict routine to drink water. I do not count how much glasses or litres water I have drunk in a day. I know only one thing that I feel thirsty after a few minutes and then I drink water. I try to drink cold water because drinking warm water in the summer season is not possible for me. In the summer season I drink more water than ever. My throat becomes dry even my belly is full with water but my dry throat still wants to drink water.

What are your favorite hydrating foods, drinks or beverages during hot weather?

On a daily basis to stay hydrated I like to drink a lot of water at my first priority. I drink curd to avoid the heat of summer and stay hydrated. I like to drink sugar cane juice but it must be fresh. I also try to drink some syrups which are used to stay hydrated in the summer season. When it comes for eating food then I try to avoid fried things specifically samosa and fritters.i try to eat vegetables which are light and has less warm impacts.

How dehydration affects our body? And how to overcome that situation?

Dehydration is really a bad condition. In this situation our body becomes fragile and helpless. Due to the sun strokes or low water level in the body we becomes very weak. We cannot perform our daily life tasks normally because of the dehydration. This also causes diarrhea and vomiting. It can cause low blood pressure.

In this situation we should seek first aid. In the first aid we should drink some fluids which have good quantity of minerals such as ORS. If we do not have any medicine then we must make a drink by mixing salt and lemon and drink that whenever we feel thirsty. Then we should seek medical guidance and cover our head properly to avoid any further dehydration and sun strokes.
