5 FOR HIS ANGER LASTS ONLY A MOMENT, BUT HIS FAVOUR LASTS A LIFETIME! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
6 When I was prosperous, I said, “Nothing can stop me now!”
7 YOUR FAVOUR, O LORD, MADE ME AS SECURE AS A MOUNTAIN. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.
8 I CRIED OUT TO YOU, O LORD. I BEGGED THE LORD FOR MERCY, saying,
9 “What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?
10 HEAR ME, LORD, AND HAVE MERCY ON ME. HELP ME, O LORD.”"
Psalm 30:7 (NLT)

• It is God Who makes things work.

  • If you are having smooth journey in life, It is because God has been involved and part of your journey—He has helped in all your endeavours.
  • It is God's favour and help that make things work. If God should turn His back against whoever, the person is finished.
  • Being humans, you can do a thing that makes God turns away from you. He at times gets angry with the one He loves (Psalm 30:5).
  • God would not spare the rod for a child whom He loves (Proverbs 13:24; 19:18). Thus, If you are a God's beloved child, congratulations, however, expects chastisements whenever you erred (Hebrews 12:6).
  • God would discipline you for the wrong you did, that you may not repeat the same mistake.
  • When you erred, God expected you to be remorseful and repent; however, If you are a mature believer, you would still be spanked for you not to repeat the foolishness again.
  • God would forgive you, but would not do without flogging you that you might not repeat the mistake. When David slept with Uriah's wife, and was confronted by Prophet Nathan, he was somber and remorseful and repented; God did forgive him, but he was chastised by killing the baby. David pleaded that God would spare the baby, but He would not.
  • Always remember before you put your hand in a sin; God would forgive you If you repented genuinely after you did any wrong, but the consequences—the scar or the lasting aftereffects or consequences of what you did may linger on than you expected. The repercussions of what David did was on his family for a long time, even when God had forgiven him.
  • God is merciful, willing to forgive, and bring any child of His back to Himself whenever they offended Him. God's anger is for a moment, but the moment might be days or months, depending on the gravity of the sin committed and the state of the person's heart when he or she realizes the wrong they did.
  • If the person failed to accept the wrong they made, the chastisement might be prolonged. The acceptance of the wrong, and the willingness to change, or right the wrong, would reduce the severity of the chastisement and the duration—how long—of it.

• If God is angry with you, endeavour to find out what actually you had done wrong—instead of arguing and trying to justify yourself.

  • God would not be angry with you without a cause. A wise and humble believer who discovered that God is not happy with him or her would endeavour to find out the cause, and repent, and be willing to do His Will or bidden.
  • You, not God, determine the how long of the moment of God's anger, when He was provoked or aggravated.
  • One of the things that made David maintain his fellowship with God was that he is always quick to repent whenever he misses it. When you are quick to repent, or quick to believe God, or quick to forgive others when you are offended; It causes you to receive God's mercy and favour: "THERE WILL BE NO MERCY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SHOWN MERCY TO OTHERS. BUT IF YOU HAVE BEEN MERCIFUL, GOD WILL BE MERCIFUL WHEN HE JUDGES YOU" (James 2:13 NLT).

"GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE ANYONE WHO HAS NOT FORGIVEN OTHER PEOPLE. BUT GOD IS KIND! HE JUDGES US, BUT EVEN MORE THAN THAT, HE FORGIVES US!"
James 2:13 (EasyEnglish Bible)

  • If there is any ailment or infirmity in your body, receive your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
    Peace!
