GOD IS WORKING FOR YOUR GOOD 2
“GOD IS SO GREAT—higher than the heavens, higher than the farthest stars."
Job 22:12 (NLT)
"AND WE KNOW THAT IN ALL THINGS GOD WORKS FOR THE GOOD OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM, who have been called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28 (NIV)
• Prepare your mind ahead of it; know that challenges would come, and it should not be strange (1 Peter 4:12-14,16).
- Mostly, things that happened in a believer's life are usually caused by character defects—things God wanted to correct in such a person's life (James 1:3,4).
- Even the attacks from the kingdom of darkness are permitted when there was a mistake, or something that was done wrong, on the part of the believer—a professed child of God (Ecclesiastes 10:8). The trials are mainly meant to smooth the rough edges, imperfections, in your life!
- And also, the so-called trials of faith are permitted when the believer had character defects which God wanted to correct in such a person's life (James 1:3,4).
- Character defects are corrected through challenges and trials in the life of a believer (James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 1:7; 4:12).
- Whatever fruit of the spirit which God wanted to grow in a believer's life, He would put the person in a position, or a condition, or an atmosphere that is the opposite of whatever He wanted to build or produce in the person's life.
• Patience is one of the fruits of the spirit, and If God wanted to build or grow the fruit of patience in a believer's life, He would allow or permit trials that would bring chaos; restlessness and impatience, in the life of such a believer:
"BE ASSURED AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE TRIAL AND PROVING OF YOUR FAITH BRING OUT ENDURANCE AND STEADFASTNESS AND PATIENCE" (James 1:3 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).
- This is applicable to all other fruits of the spirit; they are grown in the atmosphere of challenges, pressures, and tribulations.
- If, as an example, God kind of love would be grown in you as a believer, God would permit you to be with or around the unlovable people. Those who would be difficult to love, yet, God would want you to love them—express the practical love to them as a believer in Christ Jesus:
44 BUT I SAY, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES! PRAY FOR THOSE WHO PERSECUTE YOU! 45 IN THAT WAY, YOU WILL BE ACTING AS TRUE CHILDREN OF YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. FOR HE GIVES HIS SUNLIGHT TO BOTH THE EVIL AND THE GOOD, AND HE SENDS RAIN ON THE JUST AND THE UNJUST ALIKE. 46 IF YOU LOVE ONLY THOSE WHO LOVE YOU, WHAT REWARD IS THERE FOR THAT? EVEN CORRUPT TAX COLLECTORS DO THAT MUCH. 47 IF YOU ARE KIND ONLY TO YOUR FRIENDS, HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM ANYONE ELSE? EVEN PAGANS DO THAT. 48 BUT YOU ARE TO BE PERFECT, EVEN AS YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT" (Matthew 5:44-48 NLT).
• These are the areas which some believers find difficult to agree with.
- Some so-called believers completely disagree with these portions of the Scripture. But these words or principles were taught by Jesus Christ Himself, not one of the Apostles.
- You might not get there overnight, that is, you might not be able to build or grow these fruits overnight; but you had to work in agreement with the Holy Spirit on the inside of you, towards the growth of these fruits in your life.
- Thus, when challenges which can be called trials of faith surfaced or happened in your life, there is a purpose for them.
- You should not be angry with God, and you should not think you have done nothing to deserve such trials. God knows you need such trials to correct character defects in your life which might be hidden to you yourself.
- At times, such defects might not be known, even to you yourself; they might be hidden, until you find yourself in a furnace of affliction before you could see that you have such character defects in your life.
- There is no challenge or predicament which God has permitted or taken you through that is not needed, for one thing or another; for one or two lessons to learn, which would culminate in your spiritual Growth—to reach the highest point of development.
- Thus, do not be angry with God when you find yourself in various trials, they are to produce patience and other fruits of the spirit in your life (James 1:3,4). The trials are good for your spiritual health!
"FOR THOUGH I WERE RIGHTEOUS, I could NOT answer HIM; I WOULD BEG MERCY OF MY JUDGE."
Job 9:15 (NKJV)
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is contrary to your health is rebuked and uprooted in Jesus' name.
- You are made whole and the affliction is far from you, from now onwards in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
