"A wise man is strong, Yes, A MAN OF KNOWLEDGE INCREASES STRENGTH."
Proverbs 24:5 (NKJV)

• Knowledge of the Word of God gives power or strength: "A MAN OF KNOWLEDGE INCREASES STRENGTH" (Proverbs 24:5 NKJV).

  • The Hebrews word translated strength in our text is 'kôach' and It means: might, power, ability, ableness, force, strength, substance, or wealth.
  • The Bible verse can be written thus, without any injustice: A MAN OF KNOWLEDGE INCREASES MIGHT, POWER, STRENGTH, FORCE, ABILITY, ABLENESS, SUBSTANCE, AND WEALTH" (Proverbs 24:5).
  • What gives a believer power of God is the knowledge of Him. It is when you have the knowledge of God, you know Him, how to walk or relate with Him; that is when His power comes or rubs off on you.
  • Knowledge puts you ahead of other people. It makes you a leader. The major difference between the animals and humans is knowledge. Because human knows better than the animals, they can tame and control them.
  • There are are animals that are stronger and fiercer than human beings, yet, humans can tame and control them, because of knowledge—humans know more than the animals, they have superior knowledge compared to that of animals.
  • Likewise in other things, in any field of endeavour, the person who has knowledge is the strongest and the leader.
  • The knowledge of God gives you an edge over others. It makes you access the power of God. It makes you operate at the level which others who are less knowledgeable or unknowledgeable operate.

• Knowledge of God makes you an authority in the realm of the spirit. The angels obey your words when you speak, and the devil and his cohorts, demons, move at your command; because they know that what you are saying is the truth.

  • Either in the physical or spiritual matter, no one argues with facts or realities, or truths. Saying the truth, the right thing, based on the knowledge of God; is incontestable. Thus, knowledge of God is inevitable If you want to live a fulfilled Christian life.

• Knowledge of God is gotten:
I. Through the Word of God, the Bible.
As said earlier, you cannot access the power of God without the knowledge of Him. It is when you know Him and you are walking with Him in communion and the light of His Word; then you begin to experience subtle manifestation of His power in your life and the people you are ministering to.
MANY are seeking God's power but they do not have any regard for knowledge. If you did not have the knowledge of God, having His power may be an uphill task. Genuine power of God, the anointing to bless people, is gotten as your knowledge and understanding of God increased. Even If you received power or anointing through fasting and praying, you may not be able to affect more people positively with the anointing because of lack of knowledge. Power or anointing is disseminated through knowledge—the Word of God.

II. Through communion or fellowshipping with God, having a conversational prayers with God; as you know, prayer is a communication with God. Thus, when you engaged in such communication or communion, things about Him or His secrets are made known to you, and that gives you authority or power.
GOD'S power comes on you when you have time to be with Him for an extended period of time. Staying with God for fellowshipping makes His power rubs off on you (Exodus 34:27-29).
GOD'S characteristics, mannerisms, or behaviour are adopted by a believer who has spent a lengthy time with Him. YOU cannot have the knowledge of someone you had not spent time with.
YOUR being with God gives or grants you the knowledge of Him and His power also rubs off on you.

III. God's knowledge is also gotten when you relate with those who have walked with Him. When you have the opportunity of walking with whoever has been walking with God, you get to know about God or have the knowledge of Him through your association with such a person (Philippians 4:9; 2 Timothy 3:10).
WE get to know God through the lives of those who had walked with Him in the Bible. We study their lives and their walk with God, that we might know how to also walk with Him (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11).
WE study the lives of those who succeed in their walk with God, to know what made them succeed; and the lives of those who failed, to know what made them fail—in their individual walk with God (1 Corinthians 10:11,12).
THUS, relating with someone who has been walking with God, or reading and studying the materials of someone or people who succeeded in their walk with God, gives you an access to God's knowledge and subsequently His power or authority or anointing.

• What do you know of God?

  • A number of things we have shared or mentioned in this piece or teaching would help you in knowing God or having the knowledge of Him, If you practice them.
  • Having the knowledge of God takes a daily practice. Even If you acquired the knowledge, without practicing it, you would still not know Him and His power would still be farfetched for you.
  • The daily practice of His Word that you know makes you intimate with God, and that makes His power comes or rubs-off on your life.
  • This teaching is not about acquiring a head knowledge. It is about having a working knowledge or practical knowledge of God. And this comes through the daily practice of whatever knowledge of Him you have acquired through the Bible.
  • You know, someone can know about God without knowing Him practically—having an experiential knowledge of Him. There are many people in this category, they know the Bible in Hebrew and Greek, but they do not know the God of the Bible.
  • In other words, they know about God, but they do not know the God they serve—they do not have the practical knowledge of Him or intimate fellowship with Him!
  • The knowledge being shared here, when It is acquired, It would give you an access to God's power. It is about practical knowledge; walking intimately with God, in communion or fellowship.
  • It is not about the knowledge you acquire in a seminary or theological school, but in your daily walk with God; through the reading and studying and pondering and the doing of His Word and praying (Joshua 1:8; James 1:22-25).

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • Whatever is not of God in your body that is working against your wellness and good health is cursed and completely uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
  • The hold is broken totally in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and it will never be formed again in Jesus' name.
    Peace!

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
