Part- 30: The Night Before the Exam
The most important time in Rahul's life was approaching.
The day of the long-awaited government job exam was approaching. The campus library, staying up all night after returning from tuition, all of it, his days and nights were spent in a whirlwind of preparation.
Everyone in the house could understand that an unyielding determination had formed inside Rahul. Mother would only occasionally say, Dad, take care of your body. If you fall ill, everything will be ruined. Rahul would smile and say, Mom, I know. But I don't want to lose this fight.
The night before the exam. A strange, suppressed tension in the air.
Rahul was sitting at the table, looking at some important notes for the last time. But his mind was not at rest. Trisha's face was floating in his eyes. Just then, a message appeared on the phone, tomorrow is your day, Rahul. I know you can do it. I will pray all night long, that you will come back victorious.
As soon as he read the message, a light suddenly lit up in his heart. Rahul took a deep breath and told himself, Yes, I can. Because my love believes in me.
The clock struck almost two in the morning. He couldn't sleep at all.
Standing on the balcony, Rahul looked at the stars in the sky.
He felt as if the sky was different today. A strange courage was flowing from the silence.
He prayed in his heart, O Allah, give me strength.
May I win the fight not only for myself, but for my mother, for Trisha, for our love.
On the other hand, Trisha couldn't sleep either. Even under the strict gaze of her father, she was sitting by the window and opening her diary and writing,
Rahul's exam tomorrow. I know he will succeed.
If father can accept him, then my dream will come true. If he can't, I won't leave him. His eyes were getting wet, but his hands wouldn't stop. Finally, she closed the diary and held it gently to her chest as if the pages with Rahul's name written on them were her lifeline.
Rahul packed his notebook and pen before dawn.
He looked at his eyes in the mirror. He was tired, but beneath that tiredness, an indomitable determination was shining. He whispered, "Trisha, I'm coming. Tomorrow our fate will change."
