Miserable

Just imagine... You are a herd animal and you have to stand alone on a field. A barren field with only sand. You see everyone walking past you. You stand behind electric fencing and wire netting and you don't look too good.
That could be because you are older or you live in the wrong climate or you have been mistreated. Maybe you have been lied to and then suddenly you are too much and nobody wants to take care of you anymore. You are no longer special, superfluous.

From that moment on, you feel lame, miserable and not sure if you will ever get used to the new environment, other people and be happy.
