Pray
At first glance, you might think I’m a stick?
That’s not true.
You think I’m praying?
Whoever said that is mistaken.
Why would I pray?
To whom, why, what for?
I’m just here, trying
To stay invisible to the camera,
Sitting up properly,
Shaking paws,
Smiling for the birdie—
That’s not my style.
I walk through life upright,
A glutton,
A cannibal.
And after eating, I wash my paws…

Your greatest genius is that you create art from the unthinkable. A photo is enough, and you're already creating. And art is so inexplicable. This flow of thoughts. Where do they come from? Words are mixed. You choose them like a goldsmith or a watchmaker, setting diamonds in a new piece. Is it very existential? Maybe we don't have to pray. The divine is supposed to be there. All we have to do is do good things. God must be love. And that comes out of your soul, gushes forth, fills every interstices of this platform.
We continue creating. It's art that sets the rules. Do we know the greats of the past, why? Only through words and art. Let's hope that when we're gone, someone can read our thoughts.
The Dutch word is "bidsprinkhaan" so it's actually not too difficult to come up with that. No idea if it's cold in different languages the same (bid = pray, sprinkhaan = grasshopper).
Funny you mention the goldsmith (do they still exist?) as a child it was suggested to become one (I don't like gold LOL).
Thanks for hopping by. Who know we will be read one day and if not i read myself. I still like what I write.
A happy day.
I still read you. I sort through pieces of wood. I organize the pelicans and mow the lawn. My ears are ringing. Has the power gone out? Or are the 300 wolves still howling? It doesn't matter. I still can't hear them. He translates for me. Praying and grasshoppers.
The wolves are quiet they will on certain hours, unless one breaks free and has fun. No dead sheep dragged over here just and annoying dachshund howling like a wolf.. I shouldn't have said that now they start LOL
My ears son't ring just the rhithm of typing or how to write. It's dark, who needs power if it's bedtime? I hope the ventilator is fixed and will damaged my painted wall. Did the pieced kill the pelicans? Time for a bottle.. (milk).
(I'm just here).... (I walk through life upright) I know this writing is focused on the image, but I want to rescue these phrases, when reading both phrases I think of a person with a defined personality, sure of himself, that others would consider arrogant, but it is NOT like that, he is simply a human being with decision-making power, arrogant people act differently, in fact even his face shows it.
That is a good remark and a new fable is born. In average people don't like those going upright, with their head up instead of facing the floor.
With us it is a huge sign of low self esteem and they say it's better to avoid those people since they are without opinion and drain your energy.
I know how I've been raised. Sitting straight up, facing someone (who looks away and not into the eyes cannot be trusted, has something to hide), stand straight up, walk like a mannequin (book on your head). I can tell you that those who do this are rarely seen as weak creatures good to attack by bullies, molestors and rapists.
I noticed we have a nation of crumbled people where hardly anyone dares to stand up and speak out. This also causes back, neck pain and all sorts of mental problems.
Arrogance and more is visible for sure. Same for a nasty inner.
🍀♥️
I wonder why it's called praying mantis
Because the front legs are folded and it looks like while praying. I believe this is how we sat at the table before and after the meal (joewel any bowing on the table was forbidden)but with the head bowed. Sir here looks around happily as many in church or children do.
Praying before bed looked different. On bare knees in front of the bed.
🙏 it's the same as this sign. If I type "pray" it shows.
Yeah, that's how I kneel in the church. Never took notice of this insect before this
This one try to hide from the camera, but it is sitting duck for sure. Are you a mantis, or a duck? Now that's interesting.
It reminds me of pole-sitting. I haven't seen that for a long time. Humanity has become dull and devoid of skills. Boredom is everywhere.
I remember how, during my childhood, people sat for days on metre-high piles (those rammed into the soil and used to build the houses on.)
