Better be
When I think of skunks, I think of Pepe le Pew—a strange character who always makes me laugh with his behaviour, though no one would appreciate it if a man acted like that. Pepe is how many people used to see Frenchmen. Does that stereotype still exist? Is France still the country of love, or has it become the country of uprisings, poverty, intrigues, Notre-Dame burning, cheating farmers, defrauding citizens, and the failed Olympics—where discrimination and a lack of common sense overshadowed sportsmanship?
Does France still have the charm I associate with Pepe le Pew? That likely depends on where you go and who you meet. Will it be the cultured Frenchman, the artist, or the one who stabs you in the back?
Anyone holidaying in France now will rarely notice the country’s charm, especially not those stuck in the cities. Penniless and disillusioned, unless they manage to blind themselves to the truth. Terrorism, homelessness, poverty, and"free" drinking water in glass bottles in Paris. You better be in the countryside, where, with a bit of luck, you might enjoy a coffee or red wine on the village square, a proper baguette (not from Aldi), and even play jeu de boules.
It’s funny how a picture like below of a skunk brings back memories of Pepe even though I had a skunk like that myself for many years.

So I actually looked up Pepe Le Pew to see what his character was all about. Hmmp... maybe at your place, a man of that type is still around... funny though problematic. But here in Ph?... Nah! Most guys are just plain problematic without even being funny... more like annoying, really.. haha
I have never visited France, or any other country for that matter. But I wonder about the news coming out of the empire. I remember that when this whole internet phenomenon (which arrived in my country 300 years later) was already happening, I would somehow see street travelers. I remember spending hours and hours watching cultures or what a documentary of just over an hour would tell you. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. It was intense, above all, because it broke a bubble that had lasted for decades.
In the unlikely event that I become more than just a wage earner, I would like to travel. Then I'll tell you what it would be like to visit Country and Amsterdam. At any time, a flock of pigeons in a square would change the clocks forever.
Amsterdam? I doubt if you visit that city you will ever see the real part of NL or meet the real people.
300 years later? I wonder if you travelled through time or did I?
Time on the island is something else. A parallel dimension. When everyone was already with the Internet. We were still in the era of the feudal lords. Electricity and light bulbs were not yet known.
I wish the light bulbs were back...
This is so nostalgic

This character makes me laugh, he doesn't realize he's a cat hahaha, all because he's in love, well, love is a feeling that doesn't allow you to see anything hahaha.
Jokes aside: I understand what you want to express in the post, I think that life circumstances make priorities change, the focus is different, many women do not want to be mothers, they prefer to think about themselves, about having their own businesses, they are more visionary, and I agree with this, there is a lot of potential in some women
I always liked Pepe.. weird character but funny and optimistic, totally ignoring how the cat feels.
It's impossible to do two things good unless you sacrifice everything, sleep included.
