Shedding Light in Darkness

The universe is referred to as the endless space. Dark and full of secrets. There are so many things that are unknown to us out there. Just like the road they were both walking in. It was a late night and the road was too quiet. They have left their rural house an hour ago. They could not find sleep because of, how quite it was at the time. Sometimes, what makes a good conditions is, how close it is to what we are used to. Which draws the question, are we not embracing change? Or, is it just that we like to be protective of our comfort zone?

They continue walking on that brown sand. The trees are countless on their left and right sides. They cannot tell how far they have gone. But, do not dare to walk anywhere other than straight. Because, of how dark it is. It is the unknown, which is believed is, man's biggest fear.

In an attempt to calm herself down and deviate her attention to other things, the young lady said in a hushed voice: what do you like about this place, grandpa?
He said: The forest? What to not like about this place? Here we connect back with ourselves and reflect on our past. Here, far away from the city where we can find some peace in quietness, away from all that city noise. I can clearly remember the moments I spent with your grand mother and,
She rushed into her reply with saying: remember? What do you mean by that? You have not said a single word about her since we arrived.
He glanced at her briefly and looked away before making an eye contact.
She said: I think I have said so much. I will not bother you anymore with questions.
A moment passed by and she could not hold it back anymore and said: but, you have to answer my question.
He said: You will grow older young lady and at times, memories are the only things that you will have left. You will go back to places, not because you are going to connect with the supernatural side of this world. But, because deep inside, you will feel your memories presence all around you. Your senses can't reach them. But, that is the closest you will ever get. Now, let's go back, and we may continue exploring this place after sunrise.
