The song of victory at last.
We marched forth tirelessly for two days. The southern part of the kingdom was at war with the northern side even though we had once been united. I remember those times we would gather together our armies for a feast; we’d drink all night, not worrying about our safety. Who’d dare approach us unless they were looking for their grave? We were great and enjoyed the company of other nations until the Ashner kingdom from overseas sent a message. It was war, and they had gotten the southern part of the kingdom to their side. They were specialized in defense and strategy. As the commander of the imperial army, I stayed up with the king's council all night devising a plan. We prepared an ambush and also set deadly traps with the blessing from the east. Even still, our chance of winning was forty-eight percent, as the Ashner kingdom army was blessed with numbers and range attackers. It was a catastrophe, but we had few hours left to plan. The king was joining in this fight and was going to sacrifice himself to awaken the army of the dead to his aid, like his father had.
The time of war was finally here; we soldiers fought tirelessly, and we’d suffered quite a loss. Our ambush failed as the South anticipated what our moves would be. They had countermeasures for our traps, although we had managed to clear some of the Ashner army. The first set was weak, but we had this feeling they were saving the worst for last. We saw more than a thousand arrows flying towards us. I immediately called to raise the defenses and protect the king. The king wasn't, of course, ready to stand his ground; he used one of his parents' gifts to him, the hells boomer. If he had made a slight error using that, we would have been killed by it. We survived the ambush with over half our army injured, and yet some were willing to fight even with the arrows in their flesh. We saw the king of the Ashner kingdom marching forward alongside the commander of the southern army. They mocked us and told us to surrender. It was going to be a bloodbath if we decided to make any move. I looked at the king, how calm he was staring at the southern army commander who was laughing. I traced his sight to the general’s finger. He was passing a message to the king; only then did I understand what was going on. The whole scene was a plan by the king to destroy the Ashner army. Our soldiers, who we thought were killed, suddenly spawned out from all directions along with the southern army sent to infiltrate them. The western army had readied their bows, and the king signaled by clenching his fist. Arrows rained on the Ashner army, who had let their guards down. I ordered the soldiers who were already hyper to attack the Ashner army while the king said he was going for their leader's head. It was good to be fighting alongside the southern army commander again. “Let's have a feast at your place when this battle is over, top strategist,” I said. “Just don't die young, captain,” he said, laughing.
The war's fate was already decided as our king cut off their king's head. They called for retreat, but that was a dumb choice; that was something the eastern army hated. They had already asked their underground dynamite killers to set traps with their new invention, which had earned them that title. During the whole talk, their machine had begun drilling a pit round and was just waiting for them to get into the circle completely before they exploded everywhere within their radius from underground.
The king ordered our army to stand ground while the enemy fled to where they were going to meet their end. “And here go the fireworks,” the southern king said as we laughed, giving ourselves a shake.
After the whole scene, we took over the enemy's base and got ready to expand our kingdom. We had a huge feast and sang gloriously the song of victory at last, the Avalonia will always remain undefeated.

Today's writing was fun, and I exceeded the five-minute time, still noticing I don't want the story to end. I later had to start rounding off because I'm running out of free time. I have some NFTs to draw before night comes, and it's about time people start coming home from work (Fridays are always short).
I'm still keeping this for some reasons; it might help in some of my future works.

Oh, that's true, thanks for telling me. I was having the thought "seeing is believing".
