Dennis's life seemed to be a masterpiece of perfection, he had climbed the ladder of success firmly. He was highly spoken of , well respected and admired by his peers.
But beneath his perfect life, dwelt suffocation from the weight of his guilt.

He sat in his office, starring at the blank TV like there was a suspense scenario happening in a TV show, his mind wandered to the past, he thought about Jenny ,his college classmate and girlfriend. The memories of how their promising relationship ended abruptly still lingered.

"I never meant to hurt you", Dennis whispered to himself, as a scene replayed in his mind, "I was drunk, I never would have cheated"

During college days, Dennis was reckless and selfish. He was always leaving Jenny heartbroken. Although Jenny was growing tired of his bad behaviours, she stayed with him patiently, hoping that one day he would change. But one unlucky day, Dennis's recklessness caught up with him.

At a popular crowded bar, where Dennis and his friend went to chill out, Dennis stumbled upon a very beautiful damsel, Rachel. After getting acquainted with her at the bar, and in a haze of being drunk, he kissed her. The moment was caught on camera by his friends. But he never knew about it.

Nothing seemed to go wrong after that day, he had nothing to do with Rachel again and he never went back to the bar, not until while he went to see Jenny in one of his usual visiting, she showed him the footage of him kissing Rachel. The footage had just gotten to her the previous day by who knows who.

Jenny had been patient with Dennis's behavior, but this betrayal was too much, he broke the trust and she couldn't forgive this time.

"I was drunk". Dennis tried to give excuses.
"When will you stop drinking?" "when?" Jenny asked.

"This would never repeat itself, I'm sorry".
He realized the depth of his mistake and tried to apologize a d explain, the damage was done.

"It would never repeat itself because this would be the last time you'll ever see me in your life". Jenny assured Dennis.

Dennis vowed to to change, to become a better person , but for Jenny, it was too late. The relationship ended, leaving Dennis to face the consequences of his actions.

The incident served as a lesson to him, he began to explore his priorities and rebuild his life. Though he lost Jenny, he gained valuable lesson about responsibility.

After Jenny left, he never got into a new relationship, the memories he had with Jenny wouldn't let him. He didn't know where he could find her and try to make it up to her , at least now that he was a changed person.

While he was still starring at the TV, a knock was heard from the office door, then it opens.

"A lady is here for the interview" John his assistant told him.
"Okay, let her in." Dennis answered.

A lady Walked in, and as Dennis gazed at the image, he was in the same space with a figure from his past.

Jenny stood before him, her eyes locking into Dennis's with surprise.

Dennis without taking a second thought reached out to Jenny and she didn't pull away. Thier lips met, in a passionate kiss. The feeling was still there, alive. But as they broke apart, Dennis gazed at Jenny's left hand.

A wedding ring was glimmering on her fourth finger.

Dennis lifted his head back to Jenny's eyes, he saw the guilt in her eyes. The reality hit him so had—she was married.

"Jenny" Dennis whispered , taking a step backwards . "You're married"?.

Jenny's face dropped as she nodded. Her voice was barely heard. "I'm sorry Dennis, I didn't mean for any of these to happen".

The kiss that was once enjoyed now felt like betrayal. Dennis's mind was filled with questions."Who was she married to, Was she happy? And what did this mean for them.
