SC 26 W4:The Unlikely Friendship

Dear Steemians,
I am Jyoti from India glad to take part in the SC 26 W4 contest

The Unlikely Friendship

Tina and Dev were like Tom and Jerry; they used to fight often. They used to have arguments over money transactions. Since Dev often went out, he had to show his travel expense accounts to Tina, but he did not show them properly. There was a big difference between the accounts he wrote and the groups he shared. That's how they had a fight one day.

Tina:You wrote in your account that you went from Chennai to Bangalore on a first-class ticket, but your ticket shows as second class. Don't you know when you bought the ticket? Don't you know while traveling?

Dev:I travel a lot, so I can't remember all the details. I don't know which class I went to. Just check the ticket and fix it yourself.

Tina: I checked; that's why I'm rejecting this travel expense.

Dev: I don't care...

They almost quarreled...

This is how their dispute continued. The chemistry between the two was not a match. But one day, Tina was doing her work, and if she made a transaction by mistake, that is, if she made a transaction of three and a half lakh rupees to someone else, she still had four hours to recover it. But she doesn't know how to recover it. She was very upset; she talked to her friend about it and complained.

Tina: I don't know what to do. Both people's names were the same. I was depressed because I didn't pay attention properly.

Jasmine: Oh my God! Even if it was a thousand or two thousand rupees, we could have borne it ourselves. What would we do for such a large amount?

Tina: I tried, but I couldn't recover.

Jasmine: If I say one thing, you won't think I'm wrong.

Tina: I definitely don't think so. I'll have to solve this.

Jasmine: There's only one person in our company who can do this. Only he can solve this.

Tina: You mean Dev...?

Jasmine:Yes, he has already solved many such problems. I also had a similar problem once. He fixed it. You can ask him about this, but will your ego agree to it?

Tina: Okay, I'll talk to him once; we have very little time.

Her friend Jasmine called Dev by phone and invited him there. Then Tina and Dev talked about this.

Dev:We only have five hours. This is not something that can be done online. We have to go directly to his account and go to the appropriate bank branch. If I want to go that way, I have to go by flight. You are very strict in accounts. So you can't adjust the money for the flight ticket.

Dav smiled at her and nodded

Tina: Okay, I'll take care of that. I'll send you the flight ticket money to your account. Tell me how much you want.

Dev:Rupees 20,000

Tina: Done.

After that, Dev went to the relevant branch and got the transaction done. Tina was very happy. The problem was solved in a way, but the next morning, the boss called both of them.

Boss:Tina, I have told you to make money transactions without my permission for company-related work, not for personal, but you have taken 20 thousand rupees for your own expenses, and you have not taken any permission from me. May I know why?

Tina: Sorry sir, it was an emergency, and I only had a few minutes to send this amount, so I didn't ask your permission.

Boss: What's the emergency?

Tina:I made a wrong transaction of 3.5 lakh rupees, and to recover it I had to send someone to the appropriate branch. I needed the money for the flight ticket. Since it was my mistake, I had to pay it from my own account.

Boss: This is an expense that the company should incur. It could have been done from our company account. If it were anyone else, they would have done it from the company's account.

However, you are strict with others, yet you follow the same standards and set a role model. I appreciate your honesty.

The boss praised her and looking at Dev.

Boss: Dev, you may be curious why I called you; I was missing you for four hours yesterday. Where did you go...? But now I got the answer from Tina. I appreciate you both.

  • Your story is way off the prompt,

  • The story is supposed to revolve round the approval of over billing by the marketing head Dev to his marketing staff but your story describes a wrong transaction by Tina.

I like how you built the plot. However, you mentioned to your boss that you transferred 20,000.00 from your account, but your boss questioned why you transferred company money without my permission. Is it possible for a financial analyst to move company funds to her personal account? In that dialogue I have a puzzle.

Boss:Tina, I have told you to make money transactions without my permission for company-related work, not for personal, but you have taken 20 thousand rupees for your own expenses, and you have not taken any permission from me. May I know why?

Anyway, the job was done well.

She did not withdraw money without her boss's knowledge but rather took an advance amount from her salary. Due to lack of time, her intention was to recover the large amount of money she had taken a risk on, and then she thought she would inform her boss.

Oh! I didn't understand it when I was reading your story. I appreciate your explanation; I now understand.

Thank you, i appreciate your valuable time and feedback
