Ronnie’s personality was charming Clean clothing polite manners and an exciting vision of his future He told Timothy that he had come to the city to start an export import business His words carried confidence and Timothy was convinced this man was genuinely trying to turn his dreams into reality He even shared details about the city the streets the people and their habits and Ronnie listened carefully as if every word mattered

But the story did not stay simple for long

One evening when the cool breeze rattled the curtains Timothy opened the door and froze at what he saw Ronnie had pulled out a heavy bag from under the bed The bag lay open revealing items no ordinary businessman would ever carry

Inside were steel cutters saws of different sizes peculiar keys small drills a magnifying glass and worst of all a small gun

Timothy’s mind raced
What kind of business needed these tools Who was Ronnie really

Ronnie tried to shut the bag quickly but Timothy had already seen everything The silence was unbearable until Ronnie himself broke it

Ronnie: “What you saw is not what you think”

Timothy: “Then what is it You have been lying to me all along about your business”

Ronnie took a deep breath His face was calm almost as if he had been waiting for this moment

Ronnie: “Yes I lied But that lie was for my protection and maybe now for yours too I am not a businessman… I am an undercover investigator”

Timothy’s eyes widened

Timothy: “Undercover You mean with the police Or a secret agency”

Ronnie smiled faintly

Ronnie: “Knowing this means your life will never be ordinary again I am tracking an international syndicate that uses this city for illegal activities These tools they are not for business They are for breaking into their dens collecting evidence and exposing them for who they truly are”

Timothy could hardly believe it On one hand Ronnie’s voice and calmness carried truth On the other hand the tools the gun everything screamed danger

Timothy: “Then why did you hide it from me Why drag me into your world”

Ronnie: “Because I was testing you In this city I have no partner I needed to be sure you were someone I could trust”

Timothy’s heart trembled between fear and trust His seemingly ordinary roommate had just revealed himself as a secret spy whose life was a mix of danger and mystery
