Seeing such tools from someone who is assumed to be an importer/exporter, Timothy pretended not to have seen those items. In Timothy's mind, he wondered why an importer would possess such tools and why he accepted him to come to live in his house.

"There's more to this guy. Is he coming for my life or to spy on the neighbourhood to give information back to his gang members? "I must surely see to the end of this," Timothy added.

Both still pretending nothing had happened, Timothy walked into the restroom looking to see his friend's next moves. He noticed that his friend had returned the bag containing the dangerous tools back under the bed. Later, Ronnie exhaled," Oh Tim, I hope you had a wonderful day? "Oh yes, sure, Timothy responded, giving him a sharp look.

Timothy sat on the sofa and typed a message. Hey, Timothy sent a WhatsApp message to his brother. Hey! Ben, responded. "You remember the Ronnie guy I told you would be around with me for sometimes, right?" Yes, Ben responded. I caught the dude with some tools, which has really got me worried. What tools? Ben asked. In a bag it contained iron cutters, saws, bunches of keys, drills, a small gun, a magnifying glass, and some I couldn't see well.

I was thinking of hiring a private detective to investigate and monitor him," Timothy said. "That's wise," Ben responded. I know of a friend who is a detective. Let me forward his details to you. OK, that sounds great.

"Tim, I need to see a potential client," said Ronnie. I met him at the café this morning. I heard him discussing with a friend about my kind of business and so, I approached him. We booked for an appointment this evening. "That's fine," Timothy responded coldly.

"I feel so unsafe in my own house," mumbled Timothy. "Should I regret accommodating this man?" He thought again. Timothy felt he should get himself calmed. He walked into the bar and took out a bottle of whisky and poured a little into the glass and took a little sip of it. Timothy slept off only to wake up the following day.

"Hi Tim, I came back and noticed you slept off and didn't want to disturb you," said Ronnie. "That's fine," Timothy responded. Walking passed Timothy, Ronnie went to the bag containing the dangerous tools, inspecting the tools one after another.

Timothy wanted to hear the outcome of his meeting and not him searching this horrible bag again. How did your meeting go? Timothy asked. Oh, great! It was great. We spoke at length and Mr Henry gave me more insight based on his experience with other people.
"You know, I'm new to the business. I used to be a furniture maker, but my shop caught fire, but I was indemnified. When I noticed that my shop had caught fire due to the envy of competitors, they set me up. That's why I left my city to search for some other business. I thought, since there's a port here, my new business would work better here." Ronnie added.

You see this bag, Ronnie said with a smile, "Do you know my son sneaked his toy gun into my tool bag?" I found it while I was searching the other time. Oh, I see Timothy said. That sounds like the truth. Should I believe that? No, till I hear from the detective. Timothy's thought.

At the office, Timothy was handed a file that contains Ronnie's information. It reads, "I found out that the man was a craftworker. He used to work with wood and metals, and was in business until a fire outbreak that engulfed his shop. About his export/import business, he is new to the business. He is trying to pick up his life again after the horrible fire incident.

At home later that evening, Ronnie again with the tool bag said, "See my son's toy gun that was sneaked into my tool bag." Ronnie stretched the gun towards Timothy. Timothy collected the gun. It was truly a toy gun. His sneaky thought finally rested, but without informing Ronnie about his curiosity and hiring a private investigator to investigate him.

Timothy within him thought. Oh, he may have behaved mysteriously he's not actually what I thought he was.

Feedback

  • I was wondering why a wood craft worker who lost his business in an accident having plans for export import business, coming to a different city to stay in a shared room brought his tool kit? (Remember the bunches of keys in his bag in the prompt)

  • You left couple of lose ends for instance a bar selling a full bottle of whiskey or what kind of papers the file had that detective handed to Timothy! The end seemed to be too abrupt and compromising which could be tightened up.

I understand that there were scenes left incomplete, that was so because I had to re-edit to suit the number of words requested. I'm excited that these observations were made.

I humbly suggest maybe words should be extended to a thousand in the next edition. Thank you for the review, it's appreciated.

Thanks for suggestion but my observation was not based on unanswered questions but the facts. Word limit is part of the strategical test of this contest.

Thank you for the support, it's appreciated.
