Are you ready to let your imagination soar high?

 
As you know the Wordsmiths Team is into the fiction niche providing you an opportunity to let your imagination go as wide as you can and tell us how you feel and create a story based on the prompt provided below:

During a storm, a small cargo ship with 10 people on board got stuck in the middle of the ocean. They had an idea of the area but they were not sure with certainty where they were at that moment since all their equipment had stopped working. Then they saw a small island and somehow reached and anchored there.

Their radio was also not working. The ship was badly damaged. And then one morning the team members noticed that their leader was not on the ship and one of their boats was missing.

They searched for him on the island, but he was no where to be found, so the second in command ordered a rescue team for him.

The rescue team searched for him in surrounding areas but he was nowhere around. It was very surprising that the leader of the ship disappeared without any information.

Did he come back or just disappear? If he came back, where do you think he had gone? What did he do during the period he was away from his team?

Are you ready to craft a vivid and creative response based on our prompt. What kind of fictional words would you create and describe how the main character in this fictional story disappeared?

A well-crafted fiction story provides an engaging plot, including how you unfold it, what actions your characters take, and how they interact with each other.

The actions taken by the characters and the resolution at the end are all part of a good fiction story. We will see how you have twisted the plot in our given prompt in such a way that moves the story forward and keeps your readers interested by introducing complications and suspense.

We will see what conversations your characters are having about why our protagonist, the leader of the ship, disappeared and what the end of the story was.

Remember, you have to make your story meaningful through all these choices, and your marks will be based on all these facts.

Now let your imagination work for you and give us a story based on this theme within 900 words. We don't care whether the ending is happy or sad but we want to read something with logic.

This contest offers participants the opportunity to show their creativity in fiction niche as we expect participants to venture into the word of imagination and bring out of their skills, and create breathtaking stories.

This contest starts Monday, 21st April, 2025 at 00:00 UTC and ends on Sunday, 27th April, 2025, at 23:59 UTC. Posts submitted before or after will not be considered.

Word Count:

Your post must be at least 500 words and maximum 900 words (Prompt not included in word count).

Your post must be free from plagiarism and artificial intelligence which will disqualify you from this contest.

Images:

Use one or two copyright-free images with proper sourcing for instance from pixabay, Pexels.

Article Title:

Participants can write in any language supported by Google Translate, or Deepl translator but must not deviate significantly from the given story prompt.

Participants must not use our official contest thumbnail or images.
