Exploration-s23w1 /Knots

Sentenced to death, have you ever thought of tying a knot that can perform this function? Back in the days where criminals were sentenced by hanging, this is known as the slipknot, and it is also used in trapping dangerous animals.

Have you ever tied knots? Tell us about your experience

Tying a knot is no new thing to me; the only thing that is very new is the different pattern in which knots are being tied. The ropes I used to hang my clothes outside are tied to an iron pole and connected between two ends with the whip point.

I have also been tying goods for my mom to take to the markets for sales, and also, as a growing-up African child, I have also tied my firewood together to bring it back home.

I have had several experiences while tying knots. I could remember when my mom returned from the market and complained that she had to use a knife to cut off the rope I tied instead of losing it because there was no point where losing could be made possible and that the knots were so tight that she couldn't untie.

There is this trouser that has a rope around the waist instead of an elastic waistband, and I could remember a day when I joined the nudes so tight that I almost peed in my pants while trying to lose it. Dad had to use his teeth to pull them out because if they were cut, my trousers would sag like prisoners.

Make a video or a gift making 3 of the 5 knots explained in class. If they are separate, it is better to better appreciate the execution of each one of them

What uses can you give to these knots in everyday life?

The first video knot-making looks very simple but complicated, and if you noticed, I took two pictures. The reason is that I was trying to make a point here: the white rope has to be below, and the same is applicable with the brown rope. With this, you can see clearly what happens when the ropes are of the same colour. This knot can be used to join two ropes that are cut off from each other; it can also be used to tie shoelaces.

The second knot can be used in tying rope to something, like in the cloth-hanging pool; this can be used to tie to a pool.

Which was easier and harder to do, and why?
  • For me, the first was the hardest. The position of the rope really matters. Looking at the direction the rope follows, if the right pattern is not used, one part of the rope goes up and one goes down, making the tie not straight when drawn.

  • The easiest was the Ballestrinque because it didn't require much of twiddling the rope round and round, and the spaces for the cape to be entered are quite visible and easier to memorise even without looking back over and over again.

Have you made any mistakes when tying knots? What are the most common mistakes when tying knots, and how can we avoid them?

In tying knots, I have made several mistakes, missing the right place to insert the cape to the nude.

  • Whenever knots are tied with different materials, it makes it either very easy to lose or very hard to lose.

  • Trying to make a very complicated knot is not advisable in a very critical moment, like in an emergency or when needed urgently.

  • Tightly the knots can make it uneasy to unloose.

This is a very important concept, and if I should go on hiking or mountain climbing, it is very adoptable in the construction of many things. Even in knitting, some patterns are used to beautify our works, so I would love to invite @benton3 @vivigibelis @xkool24 and @ngoenyi to join in this contest
