QUENCH NOT!

in #esteem6 years ago (edited)

Hello beautiful people. Its a beautiful day and I hope you're doing amazingly well. Continuing from last week's topic, "Rekindling the love", I made mention of some things that can reduce and quench love among married couples. I hope you connect and learn as you go through.

Briefly, let me mention few things I said can reduce the love in relationships, which are; Bad perspective about marriage, Bad attitude to Sex, and Poor physical appearance. Now i'll continue with:

Poor home management

This is closely related to poor physical appearance that I talked about. Lets take for instance, a lady's husband gets back from work with his friends or even business partners and then opens the door to see the house all messed up. Maybe buckets, cloths, shoes all littered in the sitting room, this will sure break the heart of the husband and will also be a big embarrassment to him, especially with the fact that people came with him.

A lady should learn to keep her home and house tidy at all times. Men do not like dirtiness at all, even know most men are scattered, they believe its the duty of a woman to clean the house.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness

Wrong attitudes to in-laws

Everyone wants a happy home, both men and women. The truth is that if we do not love our in-laws, there might be little problems between couples. A man always want his wife to be a very close friend to his family members, so also the wife wants her husband to really love her own family members. If both parties notice you don't love someone in the family, especially parents, there may not be a smooth sail in that relationship.

Men... Women... Even young ones that haven't gotten married, our in-laws(especially parents) are like our idols, let love and respect them and its going to be reciprocated.

Lack of mutual respect

This has caused a lot of homes to be broken, many get divorced and still living under the same roof because of this issue. A man is a man, we all know that, but he should not always disregard the input and opinions of his wife. So also a wife, of course should respect her husband and allow the husbands inputs and opinions too. Some women are so arrogant that they take decisions on their own and warn their husbands never to interfere.

And of course some gentle men will step aside for their wives. This isn't supposed to be so. Husbands and wives should learn to respect each other so that the fire of the love won't get quenched.

Pride

Pride, they say, goes before a fall. Just like I said earlier about mutual respect, lack of it is sometimes caused by pride. When a man or woman is proud, he/she sure won't respect each other as its supposed to be. Lets learn to keep our shoulders down and be calm.

Not accepting faults and finding it difficult to apologize

Still talking about Pride, it'll be difficult for someone who is proud to accept faults and apologize when there's any issue at all. As human beings, there are three things that shouldn't be difficult for us to say which are;

Please

I'm sorry

Thank you

If we bring ourselves down and find these easy to say, we'll live better and the fire of love will keep being rekindled and not quenched.

Thanks so much for reading...
Till I come your way next time...

Helpful text.
This is the kind of reminder we all need.
I like the part where you mention I am sorry

Thanks for reading Pouchon

Interesting points! There is nothing as exhausting as returning to an unkept home.
