The Other Me 2
"Let's go! Let's go"
Emelia was still confused and trying to grasp everything that was happening around her but time wasn't a luxury she could afford at the moment.
She was rushed around and finally ended up at the end of a parade of elegant runway models.
Emelia was utterly bedazzled.
She was on the runway, at a fashion show, wearing Master Chen's Ocean special's design. This should be a dream come true but it felt like a nightmare, a dreadful one infact.
"Babes! What's on your mind? Get it together!" Anna Kumar who was in front of her cautioned before walking off
She was the last person before Emelia. The ocean special's was reserved for the last. It was meant to be the glamorous last entrance. Everyone especially the top critics in the Fashion industry were anticipating this particular unveiling.
Master Chen enjoyed the attention and praise from both his colleagues and competitors for being among the very top designers in the fashion industry but a controversy had erupted only recently. One that question not only his professionalism but his character, talent and even his achievements.
A 'has been' fashion model that worked under Master Chen in the past came out accusing him of inauthenticity and inappropriate behavior with his staff. According to this individual, almost all of master Chen's designs were a cooperative work of his private team after being suppressed to hours of working overtime as opposed to his popular "a spark of inspiration" statement.
He also accused his former superior of behaving inappropriately towards the female models that worked under him. Some obscure and inconsistent evidence were put forward to back up this claims but that could barely cause a sprain to this icon's twelve years of toil in the industry.
Nevertheless, it had still caused a ripple that could become a tsunami if not handled carefully. All over social media and many fashion communities online, this rumour thrived. It had basically taken the fashion industry by a swamp.
Master Chen's perfect image had been tainted and the netizens were riled up. It had gradually become a tussle for blood, those that doubted dug up for evidence to defend their icon and those that believed wanted justice.
Blood was definitely going to be drawn but the question was whose? Master Chen's or the accuser's,?
Master Chen had spent so much time and resources on this particular design. He kept it hidden from the press and even his own team. It was going to be his proof of excellence, at least it was supposed to be.
The only problem was that, the Emelia Gaston wearing that design at the moment was not the same Emelia Gaston of before.
Emelia's eyes flung wide open as she beheld the crowd that was staring back at her.
This was her thing, this was what she wanted, but it had been eight whole years since she last threaded a runway. Especially one that wasn't her parlour or in front of an audience that were not her husband and three kids.
She had managed to compose herself and forced a few steps forward but it was more than obvious that something was off.
Her facial expression, her confidence, even her mere gaze, it was not given the Emelia Gaston they knew, the supermodel that had topped the fashion charts effortlessly five consecutive times.
The more she tried to move further, the more everything in her pulled her back. Emelia broke a sweat right in the middle of the runway, in front of thousands of eyes.
At first it wasn't noticeable but gradually the audience began spotting the changes, they grew curious and even more interested. They were about to witness a show that would go down in fashion history, indeed they were.
Emelia took another step, greatly convincing herself to pull through with this at least before she could try to pull things together and understand what was going on with her.
But the next second, her pep talk was thrown in the trash as she basically fled the runway. Just as she was almost free from those eyes that clung to her every action, she passed out right at the extreme of the runway in front of everyone.
Her fainting was accompanied with a loud gasp from the spectators and then panic broke out.

It had been a week since the incident at the fashion show but the Internet had still not forgotten about it. Her fainting had even become a viral Internet meme with various mean and hilarious captions.
"When you forgot to take a shit! Could these people get any more cruel could than this?"
Matthew, the person, she figured was her manager lamented to a curly hair-ed girl who claimed to be her assistant.
He had tried scolding and venting on her but when she kept on asking for her husband and children, he concluded that she was insane.
He had even privately contacted different doctors to diagnose her.
In his exact words, 'that fall most definitely messed up your brain cells'
"But what exactly is wrong with her? What did the doctor say?" Lexie, her supposed assistant asked
"I don't know but she specifically picked the worst time to go nachos"
"Will she be okay? She hasn't even raised her voice on me and it's been a week. I'm beginning to worry"
Her presumed manager and assistant where standing at the corner of the room whispering about her.
"I need to go somewhere" Emelia suddenly walked up to them
She was tired of being locked up in this room like a mad person. She was just surrounded by strangers who kept forcing her to accept a reality that wasn't hers.
"Where to now?" Matthew sighed frustrated
"Haven't we been to all the places yet, your family house, your church, and even your children's school. They don't exist. When exactly are you planning to snap out of this?" He scolded with obvious sarcasm in his tone
His patience was running thin, he was getting so much heat from the internet, the company, Master Chen and many other investors yet instead of handling that, he was here trying to proof to his artist that she was never married neither did she have any kids
The most frustrating thing was that she herself had sworn and even declare arrogantly that she would never get married in this life. What exactly had gotten into her?
"Just one last place" she pleaded
She could see the frustration and disappointment on their faces. It was obvious they were worried about her but she was more terrified than they were.
If they were right then her husband Frank, and her three kids, Amber, Della and Jackson were all just an illusion! A dream she finally woke up from?
Everything was telling here that they never existed to begin with but she knew they did. Her baby Jackson whom she almost lost her life giving birth to. Her wedding day, the accident Frank had that got him admitted to the hospital for two weeks. An incident that caused her great heart ache.
Della turning five birthday where she eat up all the chocolate cake that was made and they had to order another one for the party. The feelings, the emotions and the scenarios were all there, in her heart and in her head.
So no matter how many times they searched up information from the internet to make her believe otherwise, she simply couldn't.
The pictures, the videos, the interviews and even the people, none of them, not one of them could take what she knew from her.
"Greys Tech, it's my..."
She wanted to say that it was Frank, her husband's company but she could tell that they were probably sick of hearing those things from her.
Frank had founded the company with two of his peers. He was the major pioneer of Grey's Tech. If the company did not exist then truly Frank and her children did not exist in this reality.
"Fine, after we visit this tech company and it proves the same thing just like the others. You'll snap out of this stuff" Matthew declared
...
After some minutes on the road, Matthew drove towards a familiar building.
It was Grey's Tech. Even the address was the same, Emelia heaved a sigh of relief. There was hope.
Though the building seemed a little different, it still bore great similarities to what she had in mind.
Soon, they drove into the building.
"Is this it?" Matthew, her manager turned to her and asked
"Yes!" Emelia nodded elated
"Let's take a look then. Who are we searching for this time? You grand children" Mathew jeered as they alighted from the car
The more she saw, the more overwhelmed she felt but then even her kids school was familiar but no one there had heard of her kids before nor where they anywhere to be found.
The more she thought of it, the more her eyes welled up. Hopefully, this would be different. Frank founded this company, it shouldn't exist without him... right?
Emelia was still battling with her thoughts when she sighted an extremely familiar figure heading in their direction.
It was him?
She was not insane. He was also here.
It was her husband, Frank!
