Have you ever asked yourself this simple question: When do I truly live? Most of us are so tangled in the web of life that we’re either regretting something from the past or worrying about something in the future. We go through the motions of daily life, but it often feels like we’re not really living. As if the body keeps moving forward, but the soul is stuck somewhere behind.

The Past – it’s gone, yet it clings to us We tend to replay old memories over and over again — someone’s harsh words, a mistake we made, a bond that broke. We carry the past like a heavy backpack, forgetting that time never walks backward. Yes, memories are important. But when they begin to overshadow our present, it’s a sign that something needs to change.

The Future – not here yet, and we’re already afraid We build up so many fears about the future — job, family, health, money... we worry so much that we miss what’s right in front of us. It’s like waiting at a station for a train that may or may not arrive, while ignoring the sunlight streaming through the window beside us. The truth is, we spend our now fearing a then that hasn’t even come.

The present moment is all we really have We need to realize that life only ever happens now. We can’t relive the past, and we can’t jump ahead into the future. But this moment — this breath — this is where life exists. Living in the present means showing up fully, noticing the small things, savoring that sip of tea, smiling with your eyes, feeling what you feel — deeply and honestly. These tiny moments, when lived fully, make up a whole life.

Thank you

There is a piece I heard in a movie I saw some years ago. The expression stayed in my mind until I heard it again and made it mine.
The past is gone and does not return, the future does not exist, what we have is the now and it is a present that God gives us to live it to the fullest. Without pain, without complaints, without hatred, without revenge. Live and let live, be aware that life passes and death comes. It comes to all of us.
So let's live while we can.
I thought your reflection was very good. Thank you for sharing it.
