A Meeting With Myself – Part 1

"When did this chasm form between me and myself?"
I asked in a trembling voice.
The voice inside replied —
"When you listened to everyone else,
but silenced your own scream."

I stayed silent...
No courage left to speak.
Then the wounds of my past appeared —
they said, "We are your story.
You always ran from us,
never even tried to understand…
We didn't break you,
we taught you how to stand."

I asked, with shaking hope —
"Am I still worthy of forgiveness?"
A faint smile rose from within, wordless but complete —
"You fell, you wandered, you shattered — but you’re still you.
Forgiveness was never the question…
You just need to hold yourself again —
All your battles were with yourself."

And then, for the first time, I held myself —
Like an orphaned child clinging to his own shadow.
No complaints, no regrets.
Just a silence… filled with peace.
And from that silence, a new morning rose —
Where I was no longer
a reflection of someone else,
but the light of my own soul.
