The words of Mikhail Zhvanetsky
I usually write my own thoughts (though most likely they aren’t mine either, and I stole them from somewhere), but now I want to write someone else's. Mikhail Zhvanetsky, a famous comedian and writer in the post-Soviet space, was born in Ukraine, specifically in Odesa. He passed away in 2020, and most likely, you have never heard of him. He was an incredibly talented and intelligent person, and I really like the way he described smart people. I want to share it with you:
Zhvanetsky on Smart People:
« Intelligence is not erudition, not the ability to jump into any conversation—quite the opposite! Or, as one prime minister once said, "by no means!" Intelligence does not mean the ability to keep up a discussion with scholars. If you are intelligent, you will realize that you understand nothing. Intelligence often speaks in silence. Intelligence senses flaws or uncomfortable moments for the other person and avoids them. Intelligence anticipates a response and stays silent if it doesn't want to hear it. And, in general, intelligence offers something.
Stupidity does not offer. Stupidity does not ask. Stupidity explains.
In short, it's better with an intelligent person. With them, you are free and relaxed. With a fool, you are constantly busy. You toil, sweating. They argue and argue… because they are sure of themselves! And from these pointless arguments, you lose the strength, patience, and wit you were so proud of.
With a fool, you can’t agree on anything. And you realize what a terrible temper you have.
So take a break with a smart one! Rest with them, my dear! I beg you! »
I don't consider myself smart and will hardly ever become one, but perhaps you, esteemed Steemian, are a smart person. If so, tell me how you achieved that, so I know which direction to move in next.

Now everything is crystal clear... But I would have to ponder on this for a while.
I decided to write this post yesterday when I had already had quite a bit of beer. In the morning, I kind of regretted it, but I think it's no big deal—what’s done is done.
"Now everything is crystal clear..."
I might not have conveyed his thought exactly due to the difficulty of preserving the original meaning in translation, or maybe you really did understand everything—I hope so.
I still find it interesting, though. You know it's my type of content.
I guess only a few really want to be confronted with the uncomfortable truths.
If this is what you post after a few drinks, maybe a two-day bender would bring out something even more interesting... 😉
You know how to motivate, Henry. Although a two-day binge is not an easy challenge, after your words, I’m ready to challenge myself😅
I think I’ve done it once - with soju. Never again 😅 I was stressed from work and ended up way too into it for a while.
But of course, I’ll be rooting for you!
Thanks, bro💪🏻
