Putin noted that this time Rahmon is visiting Russia both as president of Tajikistan and as head of the CSTO since Tajikistan preside over the organization this year. He thanked Rahmon for the visit and noted Tajikistan's contribution to the overall victory over Nazi Germany.

"We will have the opportunity to talk about bilateral relations during the visit. I am pleased to note that Russia remains Tajikistan's main trade and economic partner. Although trade turnover has fallen slightly due to the pandemic, there is every reason to believe that it will be restored," Putin said.
