Alfa Laval offers $2bn for Finnish valve maker Neles

On Monday, the Swedish industrial group Alfa Laval agreed to buy the Finnish valve maker Neles.
Offering Neles' shareholders 11.50 in cash per share, the firm will hope that its 1.73bn ($2bn, £1.5bn) bid will deter any counter offers. Judging by the manufacturer's Friday closing price, the agreement would offer a premium of 32.8 per cent.
