SLC-S25/W1 | Caramel Pudding
When it comes to cooking or anything that has to do in the kitchen I'm always present because my second office is my kitchen. As I say this week challenge I was excited and make sure I started in week one and hope to flow through the 6 weeks of the engagement.
Caramel pudding is one of the deserts I'm always longing to make for my daughter, but I'm so grateful that I have to do it through this engagement.
After going through the course outline I bought the ingredients and followed the step-by-step preparation being taught in the course outline and then I was able to carry out the practical as seen. I'm really grateful that I used this opportunity to fulfil my wish.
To be begin, I used the the questions outlined the the contest to make my entry.

Tasty dessert
Make the given recipe in detail with step by step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of the recipe.
To make the given recipe I used the ingredients that was presented.
- Milk
- Sugar
- Egg
To begin my pudding let's caramelize the sugar, to do so I added sugar to a clean pot place it on fire till the sugar dissolved and turn brown.

I turned it to a bowl that I will be using for the pudding then set it aside then proceeded to mix my egg and milk.

Using a clean bowl and a whisk, I added the 3 eggs to the bowl and whisk it very well till it is properly mixed together, then I add the remaining sugar and whisk for a little while to get a better texture.

I added the milk at this point and continued whisking till it properly mixed together, I added it little by little and continue mixing. Then I poured it into my pudding plate with the caramel carefully then it is ready to be steam.

In a pot I added water then placed a tripod at the base of the pot to enable the plate to sit well in the pot then I heat the water to boil before putting the plate in it and cover it to steam for about 20 minutes.
Within 20 minutes my caramel pudding was ready, I allow it to cook them turned it into a plate and this is how it looks, so yummy.
See the thick whitish silky pudding 🍮 so yummy, the taste and flavour was really nice and appetizing

I actually gave it to my daughter because recently I'm trying as much as possible to avoid any sugary food. She was also my kitchen assistant, she is always by my side when I'm cooking, she have passion for what she sees me do often in my second office which is kitchen. So as my kitchen assistant I shared it with her for her good job well done.
So for me to really have a good description of how it taste like, I also gave it to my husband and this is his review he gave me he said;
"it is really nice it is the best way to give our daughter egg to eat, the addition of milk to egg and steaming makes its so nutritious and healthy for her, healthy way of consuming protein, your sugar is moderate and not too much, In all it is a tasty dessert very nice."
My daughter loves it so much because she finish it and asks of another one I promise her to make another one for her and actually I'll do that.
Explain the specialty of caramel pudding.
Caramel is a nice dessert which is made of milk, sugar and egg as main ingredient, you can add flavour if needed to give it the aroma and taste of your choice.
The silky texture makes it very attractive and appetizing to the eyes, thus, no one can resist to have a taste.
The caramel sugar gives it a special look and even tastes as it have a gummy like texture in the tongue, this alone makes my daughter gave it a name to be "lollipop 🍭 in the plate" hahaha
Caramel pudding is a nice dessert suitable for breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on how one's choice. It is best served chilled to have that gummy silky taste, but which ever way one feels like it can be served depending on demands.
Caramel pudding is indeed a special dessert that is rarely prepared in homes but the nutritious value of it worth preparing at all homes especially for children, they need it most than we the adult.
