Hello, Steemians. How are you? I hope you are fine. I am great too. Another amazing Steemit Challenge week is here, and I am enjoying it. I also want to take part in the debate. Here is my entry about Can a marriage succeed without love, even if both partners are compatible and have great mutual understanding?

Is love essential to keeping a relationship healthy, or can loyalty and understanding hold a relationship for a lifetime?

I want to start with two famous quotes. One from William Shakespeare and the others from Paulo Coelho.

Love is blind, and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that themselves commit.

‎I also personally believe love is blind. Love makes us blind. A person in love can't see the mistake made by their partner. Even if he notices, he just lets it go; he doesn't care about this mistake. He doesn't care about those when he is in love. In this perspective, love can drive us to a pathetic way, a destructive way, from which we can't come back. This is the most dangerous thing about a relationship based on just love.

‎On the other hand, love is sweet. Love gives the feeling that someone who is in love is alive. This is why people fall in love, want to love all the time, and want to be loved all the time. A person in love has some expectations of their partner. They expect to be loved back. They expect sympathy, sacrifice, loyalty, and understanding from their partner.

‎Whenever these expectations are broken, anger starts to take the place of love. The person in love is unaware of that because he is blind and not able to see that. If somehow the anger increases, it will erupt like a volcano. At that time, this felt like everything had gone.

‎Sometimes a tiny doubt can break a hill of love. Doubt is the most dangerous thing for love. In love, a person doesn't seek or ask for an explanation. Lovers judge everything with emotions, not reality. This kind of factuality in love can break the repletion anytime. Once love falls into this type of crisis, it will never be repaired fully.

‎On the other hand, loyalty and understanding give a relationship a strong compound. There are fewer expectations, dreams, and more understanding and communication, making a relationship healthy. When a relationship is built on loyalty, there are no options for betrayal, which makes a relationship long-lasting. When understanding is the key, there is always plenty of room for an explanation if a partner makes some mistakes. Understanding drives a relationship to better communication. Communication is the key to keeping a relationship strong.

‎Love is not necessary to keep a relationship long-lasting. Loyalty and understanding are the keys to making it last long. But if there is some love, we can say this is the perfect relationship.

‎If a couple shows themselves as a perfect couple to outsiders with a huge emotional distance between them inside, I will call it a commitment and proof of better understanding. Why do outsiders have to know there is something wrong in someone's own life? If, with a huge emotional distance, someone can keep their relationship healthy with loyalty and understanding, I don't see any problem there. Rather, I want to praise that they don't want to let the people know about their distance.

The main purpose of someone's life should be to seek peace. Holding peace is a wiser and more mature decision. If someone wants to be adventurous, to chase his mind, he can be. This is not linked to a relationship. Chasing mind is for someone who is not committed to any kind of relationship. It’s someone's own decision. A person who is in a committed relationship should not follow their mind. It’s a matter of understanding and discussion.
