Hi! Did you watch the Grammys this year?

Although it is interesting to see the music industry adapt to the pandemic (it must be quite the challenge), I wonder if the lack of connection the public may feel towards the industry is something recent, or if it is something greater. Unfortunately, it feels harder to connect with the music industry over the years, so I personally haven't.

With scandals such as #FreeBritney, or Kesha's lawsuit (and more which you might know of), not to mention other scandals, it just feels harder to keep in touch with a world that seems so 'far' from reality.

Also, it feels like the industry is vaguely trying to reproduce current trends to stay relevant in a way? Such as rewarding more women, years after movements such as #MeToo emerged. To put it in another way, I sometimes feel like they are reacting to trends rather than leading them. That said, I do understand that it is difficult for artists to support movements; I'm rather discussing the people who are one level above such as labels.

Lastly, I can't get into music being released lately. Meghan Thee Stallion or Cardi B (or is she old school already? aha)... so, I can't really form an opinion about which tracks/artists should be rewarded. Glad to see that Beyonce still rocks though!

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

PS: maybe some of you have heard of the outrageous French Caesars 2021 ceremony? I have never watched these, so I only got some screencaps on social medias, but if you have more insight on these as well!
