The story of my winter vegetable farming.
Hello friends
How are you all? I hope you are all doing very well by the grace of God. I am also doing very well by your prayers. I am going to start today's new post by greeting and congratulating all the brothers and sisters of 'ccs' on my behalf. Today I have come to you to express my feelings about winter vegetable production. Where despite having vegetables in my pond-side vegetable garden, I had created the mindset of planting vegetables again, saved the seedlings and seeds of the plant and sowed them and achieved success. I will present the story of that subject with photography as well as description. So, let's try to know by looking at the photos in the detailed post without further delay.
On November 16, 2024, I went to my pond-side vegetable garden to store radishes and winter vegetables. I also have other vegetables in my garden, including brinjal, eggplant, and spinach. I thought for a moment while storing the vegetables. The spinach and radishes in the garden have grown. The radishes will start growing in a few days. When these vegetables run out, I will have to buy them from the market. It would be better for me if I choose a place in another part of my garden and sow winter vegetables for the second time.
Suddenly, the thought stuck in my head. I kept thinking that if vegetable seeds are sown again in some places and some vegetable trees are planted, it would be good for me. At such a moment, I am taking photographs of the flowers and thinking as I thought. The thought is good for me. Because when the vegetables that are there run out, then I will have to buy them from the market. If I use the other place lying in the garden for the second time, then the vegetables that were there first will grow and the vegetables from the second time will grow as they run out. Then I will be able to save vegetables one after another from my vegetable garden. With such a thought in mind, I concentrated on going home now, bringing agricultural machinery and selecting a separate place for vegetables.
In a short time, I went home after storing the vegetables and came back to the vegetable garden with the agricultural equipment. It was a 7-minute walk from the vegetable garden to our house. Although it was a garden on the pond side in the middle of the field. But it did not take much time to go from home. However, I entered the pond side again with my agricultural equipment. Then I selected a specific place and cleaned it. Then with the help of a spade, I dug up the soil and made a place for sowing vegetable seeds and planting vegetable trees.
Then one day I went to the nearby Bamondi market to store vegetable seeds. After storing the vegetable seeds from the open market shop, I came home and went to my vegetable garden. I prepared the designated area well again and sowed the vegetable seeds, namely radish, spinach seeds.
After a few days, I noticed small radish plants coming out of the soil. I occasionally went down into the pond and watered the vegetable plants. In this way, after a few days, the vegetable plants started growing little by little. I left some space on the north side of these vegetables to plant brinjals, tomatoes, and eggplants. In other words, I sowed radish, spinach seeds in one-third of the space I had prepared, and left the remaining half for planting vegetable seedlings.
Then one day I went to Bamundi market again for shopping. After doing the necessary shopping, I bought tomato and brinjal seedlings. It was night by the time I returned home. I entered the vegetable garden at night and planted brinjal and tomato plants. It took about an hour to plant the plants. I faced problems with mosquitoes and various insects at night. I finished the work by lighting the mobile phone torch. Then at night I went down to the pond to collect water and water the plants.
After a few days, I went to check on my newly planted brinjal and tomato plants. I saw that many of the trees had been broken by dogs and foxes roaming in the field. So I quickly cut a bamboo from my bamboo garden, cut it into several pieces, and buried them at the base of each tree. This ensures that even if an animal walks through it, it will not step on the tree.
Along with the newly planted vegetables, I continued to take care of the old vegetable plants, i.e., brinjal plants, jhal plants, ole plants, bean plants, etc. It can be seen that the old plants and the new ones were all taken care of more or less. And in this way, along with the old ones, the new plants and even the winter vegetable beds received constant care from me.
Then it turns out that when I went to feed the fish in the pond, I would take a bucket with me. I would pour water into the bucket and pour it at the base of the plants. That is, when I would take a rest after feeding the fish, I would take care of the plants after taking a rest. In this way, I would spend my afternoons feeding the fish and taking care of the plants in the vegetable garden. And in this way, in a moment, it was seen that the plants in my vegetable garden were growing very beautifully. Along with fish farming, my vegetable garden was also growing vegetables.
I think the afternoon is our favorite time. At this time, we can play sports, and those who have work can do something recreational along with work that will keep their mind and spirit healthy. Similarly, I took my vegetable garden as my entertainment. After feeding the fish, producing vegetables in the vegetable garden, taking care of the vegetable plants, and preserving vegetables have all become entertainment for me. That is why I still have my vegetable garden. Whenever I have the opportunity, I spend the afternoon in my vegetable garden. Because I have to feed the fish every morning and afternoon. I may not have time in the morning because I have to go to school. So I can use the afternoon in the vegetable garden. Sometimes I also take a rest in my vegetable garden. And this is how my fresh formalin-free vegetable production is going on.
