The quaint and lesser-known ancient town of Xiashi, Guizhou.

When considering the ancient towns of Guizhou, one might envision the luminously adorned, terraced Miao village, the riverside settlement of Zhenyuan, or the melodious echoes of Zhaoxing Dong village. However, today, I wish to recommend a lesser-known gem, the ancient town of Xiashi, imbued with a delicate, Jiangnan-esque charm.

Xiashi Ancient Town, largely untouched by throngs of tourists, invites tranquil strolls amidst its diverse and venerable architecture, allowing one to immerse themselves in the unhurried rhythm of local life. Its varied and picturesque scenery provides a captivating backdrop for photography.
