Hangzhou's West Lake Sunset: An Experience Not To Be Missed

in CCS3 days ago

Recent days in Hangzhou have been characterized by rain, so I ventured out to take some photos on a rare sunny day. My original intention was to photograph lotus flowers, but due to taking an incorrect route, I arrived at Jixian Pavilion along West Lake, where I serendipitously encountered a stunning sunset.
I had previously heard that Jixian Pavilion was the optimal location for viewing West Lake sunsets, but had never visited before. This time, I simply happened to pass by and witness such a captivating scene.
Upon arriving, I noticed that the lakeside was replete with cameras, leading me to surmise that some awe-inspiring sights would soon unfold.
Presently, the days are long and the nights are short, with sunsets typically commencing between 18:50 and 19:00. The sunset itself lasts approximately 5-8 minutes, after which the afterglow begins to appear. The duration of the sunset is exceedingly brief, so it is imperative to arrive well in advance when seeking to witness it.
During my visit, cloud cover was substantial, preventing me from seeing a perfectly round sun descending. However, this sunset was more than sufficient to captivate me and leave me longing to return.
