The ocean is a mystery and a large region of the underworld that has not been fully explored yet. I often wonder how come about all the innumerable creatures found under the ocean beds. Most of which are yet to be explored. The creator of the universe really fashioned the sea to an unimaginable forms.
This mystery triggers a sense of adventure and curiosity. Each diving into the Ocean can reveal new species or previously undiscovered features of the seafloor. For instance, the deep sea, with its extreme conditions of pressure and darkness, harbours bizarre and underworldly creatures such as the sea mermaid, anglerfish and the giant squid. The potential of unveiling the unknown makes the ocean an endlessly fascinating place.
On a personal level the ocean has always been a place of solace and fascinating for me, I used to fantasise a personal connection with the ocean. I am from the riverine area, in fact close to the Atlantic Ocean. Then when I was a child we used to go fishing and paddling as an adventure by the estuary or seashore. We would swim and came back home catching fish. We picked perewingles by the swampy side of the ocean, the adventure when I remember draws me close to that natural water environment.
The rhythmic sound of waves, the feeling of lightness while swimming, the cool sea breeze and the sight of a vibrant coral reef all contribute to a sense of peace and baffle. Deep swimming have offered me intimate glimpses into the underwater world, allowing me to observe marine life closely and appreciate its complexity, beauty and energy. I still up til today miss the ocean adventure and I'm making plan to leave the city to go visit the ocean once again.
My preference for ocean is rooted in its mystery, personal connection, diversities, ecological potentials. The ocean is a source of endless admiration and fascination to me. It's also a critical component of our planet and must be kept healthy and protected. We should all join hands to appreciate and protect our ocean life.
