The First Breakfast of My New Married Life: An Unforgettable Morning in My Memory
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
It was about two and a half years ago. I had just gotten married and moved to Dhaka with my new family. A new chapter of life had begun—married life. After searching for a place to live, we finally moved into a small flat. At that time, our home was almost empty—no proper kitchen utensils, no furniture. Starting a new household always comes with a sense of emptiness, yet it is filled with dreams and hope for the days ahead.
The morning after we moved in, something small yet deeply touching happened. In the room next to ours lived Mamun Bhai and his wife, whom we affectionately called Bhabhi (sister-in-law). That morning, I woke up to the sight of our disorganized home and couldn’t help feeling a little worried—what would we eat, how would the day begin, and how would things slowly fall into place? Just then, there was a knock on the door.
When I opened it, there stood Bhabhi with a warm smile, holding out a plate of noodles. On the plate was steaming hot egg noodles, slices of cucumber and carrot, and a fresh green chili on top. At that moment, the taste of those noodles felt like the best food in the world. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a gesture of warmth, kindness, and a heartfelt welcome to our new life.
That breakfast was not simply about filling my stomach—it was a sweet experience of receiving love from new people in a new place.
Now, two and a half years have passed. I live in a separate rented flat and have gradually settled my household. My home now has all the necessary things—furniture, kitchen items, and far more financial stability than before. Yet, those early days of struggle, uncertainty, and finding happiness in small things will never be forgotten.
When you start a new household, you have to learn many things from scratch. In bachelor life, responsibilities are limited—to your own meals, your own sleep, and your own work. But married life multiplies those responsibilities. You share your life with another person, care for family members, plan finances, and make countless small decisions together. The early struggles may be difficult, but each experience shapes you into a more mature person.
Sometimes I think, it is the limitations and small joys of those days that truly become life’s most treasured memories. Today, when I found this picture on my phone, it felt as if time had rewound in an instant. Everything has changed—me, my family, my surroundings. But the taste of that plate of noodles, and the warmth of that day’s kindness, still feel as fresh as ever.
In life, we may achieve many great successes later, but it is the small moments at the beginning of a new journey that leave the deepest marks on our hearts. And those marks never fade—with time, they only shine brighter.
Thanks all
