Experience of Buying Curtains and Foam from Islampur – Part One
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
Every single day of life brings us new experiences. Yesterday, I too had one such memorable experience. Suddenly, my mother-in-law and one of my nieces came to visit our home. While chatting in the evening, my mother-in-law mentioned that they needed some new curtains and sofa foam for their house in the village. The old ones had become worn out, and this time she wanted to replace them completely. She asked for my suggestion, and I immediately recommended Islampur. After all, Dhaka’s Islampur is famous as a wholesale market for fabrics, foam, and curtains. You can find high-quality products there at reasonable prices.
Hearing my words, she looked pleased and said right away, “Then tomorrow morning we will go to Islampur, and you must come with us.” I knew very well it was difficult to refuse her request! So, I called my office and took a day’s leave.
The next morning, after breakfast, we started our journey towards Islampur. Although it was only around 10 a.m., the scorching heat was unbearable, and the blazing sun made us restless. To make things worse, the traffic jams on the way were extremely frustrating. Sitting in traffic for so long really tested my patience. Still, I kept telling myself that once we reached the market, it would all feel worth it.
Finally, we arrived at Islampur, and the sight was dazzling—rows after rows of shops filled with colorful curtains and varieties of foam. It was almost impossible to take my eyes off them. Each shop displayed unique designs, vibrant colors, and different qualities. My mother-in-law and niece were very excited, hopping from one shop to another, checking everything carefully. I followed along, and to be honest, I was amazed by the sheer variety of curtains available.
After quite a bit of searching and comparing, we finally decided to go with ten medium-priced but high-quality curtains. The colors were attractive—blue, sky, red, light golden, and even floral patterns. Alongside, we also ordered ten 4G Carmo foams to make the sofas more comfortable. We added some cushion pillows as well. Altogether, the bill came to around 20,000 taka. At first, I was a little surprised by the total cost, but later I realized it was quite reasonable considering the quality. In fact, compared to many other places, the prices at Islampur were much better.
After placing the order, the shopkeeper confirmed that the delivery would arrive the very next day. My mother-in-law smiled and said happily, “Yes, this was definitely the right place to come!” Seeing her happiness made all my stress and exhaustion disappear instantly. However, the return journey was no less challenging—the traffic jam was so bad that by the time we reached home, it was already 5 p.m. I was completely drained, but deep inside, I felt satisfied that the day had been worthwhile.
So, this was my experience of the day, and I am sharing it here as the first part. Honestly, the colorful curtains and foams of Islampur made the day feel just as colorful. Tomorrow, once the products are delivered, I will share the second part with pictures—describing how the items turned out, how they were arranged, and most importantly, how happy my mother-in-law was with everything.
(To be continued…)
Thanks all
